Martha McSally to Take John McCain’s Place in the Senate

As of Tuesday, Arizona officially has a permanent replacement to fill the late John McCain’s seat in the Senate. Gov. Doug Ducey released an announcement in the morning, giving the job to Rep. Martha McSally, the woman who was widely predicted to get the nod.

“All her life, Martha has put service first — leading in the toughest of fights and at the toughest of times,” Ducey said in a statement. “She served 26 years in the military; deployed six times to the Middle East and Afghanistan; was the first woman to fly in combat and command a fighter squadron in combat; and she’s represented Southern Arizona in Congress for the past four years. With her experience and long record of service, Martha is uniquely qualified to step up and fight for Arizona’s interests in the U.S. Senate. I thank her for taking on this significant responsibility and look forward to working with her and Senator-Elect Sinema to get positive things done.”

McSally’s path to the upper chamber has been an interesting one, to say the least. She was gunning for Arizona’s other seat – the one abdicated by retiring turncoat Jeff Flake. She was defeated for that seat, ever-so-narrowly, by Democrat Kyrsten Sinema last month. But her woes were short-lived. After original McCain replacement John Kyl announced that he was hanging up his boots at the end of the year, the governor was left with no choice but to hand the seat to someone else. Who better than the U.S. Representative who was the choice of millions of Arizona voters?

“Over the last year, I’ve traveled across this great state, meeting with countless Arizonans, and listening to them,” McSally said. “I’ve heard about the challenges they face and the hopes they have for the future – and I’ve learned a lot. I am humbled and grateful to have this opportunity to serve and be a voice for all Arizonans. I look forward to working with Senator-Elect Kyrsten Sinema and getting to work from day one.”

If there is a downside to McSally’s consolation prize, it is that she will only be guaranteed a two-year term in office. In 2020, the year that McCain’s seat would have been up for grabs, she will have to win the seat legitimately in a new election if she wants to stay in Washington.

  1. Hallelujah & congratulations to our honorable US Senator Martha McSally

after that corrupt ballot harvesting illegally
    ??elected?? liberal kyrsten cuntly sinema

will be Arizona’s other dishonorable Washington official who can not represent any part

of our Honorable USofA, if she tried too

    this is the TRUMPing Truth!!!

    • Good Luck Martha. I hope you didn’t throw way “The Rules Of Engagement”. Your’re going to need them. Sinema and the Democrat Socialist party are going to fight you all the way. Bring government to the troops standing behind you, that’s us, go public, keep everyone in the loop, no shadow meetings away from the public eyes, as Nancy suggests. Sunlight is the great equalizer. We can’t help you if we don’t know whats going on.

    • So true, Trump is the only true Republican in D.C. not bad for an ex Democrat.
One thing the Democrats are bound together the Republicans are always worrying and afraid to stand up for the people especially when the forte’ of Dems is to screw the people , even their own fellow wacko’s

  3. Should have been the one elected in the first place. We would have had two Republicans from AZ, instead of the idiot that illegally got voted in. Illegals voting is what won way too many of these races. We need VOTER ID.

  4. Why is it that a man cannot be appointed? Of course AZ is replacing two Beta males ( Flake-who was well named and Obama’s valet -McCain) with one well qualified woman in McSally and one female Bernie Sanders in Sinema.

  5. Good!. I think she is a great choice to replace spineless John. I think she has the drive to become a leader in congress and will definately work with President Trump to overcome some of the problems he faces with democratic opposition in Congress.

  6. Great McSally will do a good job. Too bad she didn’t have the job 5 years ago when Traitor McCain was doing his dirty work.

    • This is a replacement for backstabbing, traitorous McCan that will have him turning him in his grave.
The only reason this man escaped a Military Tribunal after his $$ Bio destruction of military hardware during the Vietnam was was his Daddy 4- Star Admiral.
His national accolades for his military service were totally undeserved, his other nickname, “Songbird” given to him for betraying his co-military prisoners in contrast, totally deserved

  7. I still can’t believe that the Arizona voters voted for Sinema. You would think after all the problems they had with McCain and Flake they would no better. They will have nothing but major problems with Sinema.

  8. Should have been elected in the first place. Way too many illegals being allowed to vote. Have to have Voter ID or we will lose our country to foreigners.

  9. I hope McCain learns of that replacement for his old seat.
That will make him squeal in anger for a real patriot and officer finally take the seat of that traitor to everything that the military stands for.

  10. I don’t really follow Arizona politics too closely but I did pay close attention to the RINO’s McCain and the useless turncoat Flake (appropriately named). I was hoping the voters in AZ would originally have elected Martha McSally but that didn’t happen. God works in mysterious ways sometimes! I am thrilled to see a combat veteran going to the US Senate. She seems like a good woman who loves our country. I wish her well and a long successful career in the Senate. God Bless McSally and Good Luck! Ms. McSally, your fellow conservatives around the country are counting on you!! We need all the Patriots we can muster. And thank you for your service in the Air Force!

    TRUMP 2020!

    • Thanks for your comments and support for McSally. Nice to see out of state interest for a real conservative. Sinema will be worse than the 2 RINOS we had before posing as Republicans.

I mean, what you say is important and all. However think of if
you added some great images or video clips
to give your posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with pics and clips, this website could
definitely be one of the greatest in its field.
    Superb blog!
