Now We’re Talking: New Bill Would Send Sanctuary City Officials to Prison

The Trump administration has been trying to cut off federal grant money going to sanctuary cities that refuse to cooperate with immigration officials, but in the wake of last week’s outrageous verdict in the Kate Steinle murder trial, one Republican congressman wants to go a step further. In a bill introduced to the House on Monday, Rep. Todd Rokita (R-IN) is pushing for a law that would send local politicians to prison if they are convicted of sheltering illegal immigrant criminals from their rightful deportation.

“Politicians don’t get to pick and choose what laws to comply with,” Rokita said in an interview with Fox News. “Americans are dying because politicians sworn to uphold the law refuse to do so.”

In the “Stopping Lawless Actions of Politicians Act,” Rokita aims to hold local lawmakers accountable for their actions. If the bill is passed, state and city-level politicians would be held criminally responsible for their refusal to cooperate with federal immigration officials. The prescribed punishment for an offense: Up to $1 million in fines and up to five years in prison.

“It’s time the federal government gets serious about enforcing immigration laws and holding politicians accountable who conspire to break them,” said Rokita.

Amen to that.

As advocates for tougher immigration enforcement and the abolition of sanctuary cities, we were angered and disturbed by the verdict in the Steinle case. But even if we were gung ho about letting illegals pour into this country the way San Francisco liberals obviously are, we would be distressed about it, because we’re pretty sure this miscarriage of justice is the worst thing to happen to immigration activists since the election of Donald J. Trump. This ridiculous verdict has turned a spotlight once again to the perils of unrestrained illegal immigration and it has shown America exactly what can happen when we don’t defend our borders and we don’t enforce our laws.

In the days following this judicial insanity, San Francisco officials have doubled down on their lawless positions. A spokesman for Mayor Ed Lee said, “San Francisco is and always will be a sanctuary city.”

This defiance has caused the hashtag #BoycottSanFrancisco to go viral on social media as people of conscience and sound mind reject the leftism on display in California.

We doubt there’s much chance of Rep. Rokita’s bill getting through to the president’s desk, but we’re glad to see there are Republicans serious about bringing an end to these sanctuary city policies. These policies have already led directly to bloodshed and crime. They have no place in this country.

SFO and the entire state of CA better build bigger jails to hold all of these losers. It’s about time for the DOJ to get off of the dime and do something about this stupid shit!

    • Lexus 500

      I totally agree

    • Tony

The immigration laws should hold in all cities in our country along with all the drug dealings that takes place in one’s city.

    • evangelinebrabant

And right across the Bay, Oakland is the human sex trafficking capital of the U.S. if not the world.

      • phil

Correction: Oakland is the sewer of the bay

        • Tasine

I have never thought of Oakland as much of anything except slimey.

      • Carrieerh18

And Washington state pushing jobs for aliens on their waters. Enough of this because it is cheaper to have aliens work and vote for the democrats who love this garbage.+

      • Darren Rusty

We have to deal, but this is truly a shame!

    • backtofront

No! Massive deportations and fool-proof wall.

      • apzzyk

Do you know how easy it is on our East Coast to take a fishing boat out beyond our international waters, pick up a load of illegals or drugs and return to the small ports that are all along the coast. What we really need is a dome. If you fly from TJ to Vancouver, BC, take a bus to the official crossing then take the next city bus East about a mile that you can walk right across the border – there is a little sign like a 2 hour time limit parking sign that shows where the border is – people who are neighbors but in different countries loan their gardening equipment to each other. I was to see them build a great wall across Lake Superior to keep the Afgn Navy from coming into lake MI – the only Great Lake that is entirely in the US.

        • CHARLES S

          Don’t you mean “drone?”

          • Kenneth Jones

We would need a 24 hour air patrol of drones to cover the entire eastern seaboard. We have satellites that can do the same thing. If we were to use the Coast Guard, that would mean we’d need to double the size of the cutter force.

      • Darren Rusty

Like I’ve said before … 240 VAC should do it and we’ll up the amperes if we have to. Electrify the damned wall or it will be a waste of time.

        • DJA Lindsey

And arm the Border Patrol with real bullets and let them shoot anyone coming over the wall and toss the bodies back over!!

          • Steve Thomas

I have been saying that for a long time. We would only have to shoot a few before they got the message.

    • Kenneth Jones

Well, we’ve got plenty of room for them: the Mojave Desert.

      • Darren Rusty

Send them there and get back to me.

        If there’s a donation, I’ll give what I can.

        • Kenneth Jones

I’m thinking of a concentration camp with watch towers, machine guns, tar paper barracks, miles of barbed wire enclosure, and a minefield. How does that sound?

          • NRApatriot

It’ll still cost the taxpayers money! Deport them once and if they return, execute them on sight!

          • Darren Rusty

ABSOLUTELY! That Texas talking … shoot on sight. You don’t obey the law, you’re a gonner.

          • NRApatriot

I think I picked that attitude up from Texans when I worked the oil rigs in south Tejas? If not for an ex wife and ex in laws, I’d still be there! I loved south texas!

          • SNUFFER

IF WE COULD GET A BOUNTY ESTABLISHED ON THEM – WE ALL WOULD BE SET FOR LIFE-WE COULD MAKE A FORTUNE OFF JUDT THE EASY ONE’S. THEIR IS A LAW ON THE BOOKS ABOUT THE WETBACKS LONG TIME AGO. IT SAID BRING THE BODY OF- IT DID NOT SAY DEAD OR ALIVE. JUST THE BODY OFF.

          • SNUFFER

I COULD GET RICH JUST ON MY STREET ALONE AND AT OUR INTERSECTION BEGGING IN TRAFFIC AT RED LIGHTS. IT’S NOT MY JOB TO FEED A BUNCH OF ILLEGALS MAKING MY LIFE MISERABLE IN THE COMMUNITY. OUR FIELDS ARE COVERED WITH TRAILS WITH THEM CROSSING OUR PROPERTY- I HEAR THE FOLKS WHO OWN RANCHES IN SOUTH TEXAS AROUND PEARSALL ARE BUYING BACKHOES BY THE PAIR TO TAKE CARE OF THE FLOOD OF WETS CROSSING THEIR FIELDS BACK IN 2016- NOW THEY ARE SITTING IDLE WITH COVERS ON THEM- NOTHING LEFT TOO BURY.

          • Dennis B Anderson

All your XXXes live in Texas ! Thats why you hang your hat in Tennesseeeeeee? HA – HA – HA You know they wrote a song about you !

          • NRApatriot

Go a little farther east to the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mtns. to find where I hang my hat these days but I can see Tennessee from the ridge line! But I have sang that song a few times! If I’d have stayed there, I would be singing it from a prison cell if I survived all the lead that would’ve been flying!

          • Dennis B Anderson

My father was from Lee Masters, West Virginia if that place is still on the map? He was in grammer school before the depression. He had to walk to school bare footed. The dirt road was up hill both ways.My step father was from Smith Mills, Kainnnnntucky. I grew up in Southern California. I fought the niggers on my way into school in the morning, and fought my way out with the mexicans in the afternoon. They didnt like showing up before lunch time. I left LA when I was 22. If I was still in that enviroment there would be some dead people. I just got my NRA sticker in the mail yesterday and stuck it on the canopy of my my 4×4 chev. Is there hope for the homosapien? I have been caught saying this phrase a few times. I think about Darwin, the chicken , and the egg? Who was here first in evolution, and came up with this!!
ONE OF THE REASONS WHY GOD CREATED THE CHIMPANZE WAS BECAUSE HE WAS SO DISSAPOINTED IN MAN.!! God bless America heres hoping Trump will bring back some sanity to this blue marble. I have scars I will take to my grave, and had my nose broken 3 times. I turned out to be a hard twist that confuses the norm. They will try and talk a good fight before they pick themselves up off the ground.
Merry Christmas to one and all.

          • NRApatriot

I think you and I would get along just fine Dennis! I am most definitely NOT politically correct! My family has lived in this part of the world for over three hundred years. Had my nose broke twice and my body is covered in scars, mostly because of my own stupidity. I used to think fist fighting was fun until I regained my sanity! Nowadays because of an pacemaker in my chest, if someone picks a fight with me, they’ll NOT be picking themselves up off the ground but instead will buried in it! You should consider joining the Gun Owners of America organization! They’re the only NO compromise gun lobby in the nation and their membership dues is only twenty bucks a year! A very merry Christmas and blessed new year to you and yours!!!

          • bendecido

Didn’t Obama have secretly built some concentration camps along the USA? He even had some thousands of caskets throughout to bury them in. Correct me if I am wrong. But I remember reading about it in some of the articles that appear in these venues of reports. I could be wrong.

          • NRApatriot

I read the reports myself and I wouldn’t put anything past the communist muslim usurper but I haven’t been able to verify them.

          • Kenneth Jones

They’re supposedly called FEMA relocation camps.

FIRST STEP WOULD TO GET RID OF JERRY BROWN- HE IS SELLING OUT THE STATE TO THE WETBACKS- AND I HOPE THE NEW BILL PUTS HIS ASS IN PRISON FIRST THEN THE ASSHOLES IN SAN ANTONIO TEXAS.

      • Kenneth Jones

Brown is 73, can’t run for reelection again because of term limits, and is rumored to be a sick man. We’re circulating a recall petition against him in order to keep him from trying to have the term limits law overturned so that he can seek a third term. We’ll be well rid of him in any respect, thank God.

        • CHARLES S

“is rumored to be a sick man”? Of what? AIDS?….Since he is a ‘homosexual….
I hope he is so sick that he will soon die……won’t miss that pos—–

GET RID OF THESE IMMIGRATION IDIOTS AND GET YOUR COUNTRY BACK ON THE FORWARD MOTION LIKE BEFORE. BUT SINCE BROWN HAS BEEN BACK IN YOUR STATE HAS SENT OUT NOTHING BUT FOOLISH THINGS FOR THE STATE TO ABIDE WITH AND THE PEOPLE TO LOOK STUPID TO THE REST OF THE COUNTRY. AND “HOLLYWEIRD” IS NOT HELPING THE COUNTRY’S REPAIR PROBLEMS AT ALL. THE REST OF THE STATES HAVE LOOKED ON CALIFORNIA TO BE THE HOME OF FRUITS AND NUTS FOR YEARS. Combine that with their rat like sleaziness, to dominate and control all matters relating to education, and you have a toxic concoction, “liberally” splashed into society’s face. Such is California. I know. I live here and they are *all over the place*. !!!

          • SNUFFER

I WOULD REALLY BE AFRAID THAT “TACO LOVER” JERRY BROWN WOULD MAKE A RULE THAT ALL WHITE AMERICAN CITIZENS WILL HAVE TO GIVE THEIR HOMES TO AN ILLEGAL FENCE JUMPER TO LIVE IN AND THEM BE ON THE STREET. I WOULD BE AFRAID IF THE WHITE CITIZEN WOULD BE MADE TO HOUSE ILLEGALS IN THEIR HOUSE IF THEY HAVE A BEDROOM THE HOMEOWNER WAS NOT USING. I’D MOVE OUT OF THAT STATE OF FRUIT AND NUTS SO QUICK IT WOULD MAKE GOOD OLE JERRY BROWN’S EX RONSTADT’S BALL OF SNATCH HAIR TO CATCH ON FIRE FROM THE SPEED I’D BE DOING TO GET THE HELL OUT OF THAT KOOKY STATE. OVER THE PAST 20 YEARS – CALIFORNIA HAS BEEN GETTING MORE WEIRD EVERYDAY. NOW IT’S REALLY BAD WHEN TACO LOVER JERRY BROWN GOT BACK IN OFFICE. CALIFORNIA WAS IN THE PAST WHERE FOLKS FROM THIS FAR EAST WENT TO HAVE A NICE VACATION. I WOULD NOT COME ACROSS THE STATE LINE ON AN ALL PAID 2 WEEK VACATION ANYWHERE IN THE STATE. TO WEIRD AND TO MANY WETBACKS GETTING AWAY WITH MURDER AND SO ON FOR US TO VISIT AND TAKE A CHANCE ON GETTING KILLED BY AN ILLEGAL DIRTBAG.

That, or…if they want to continue with their secessionist attitude [abandoning/subverting federal law], then the least we can do is label it as the illegal uprising it is. That means putting national guard all around California, and treating it like some of the caribbean for starters: no passport? Turn around, and go back home. Undocumenteds may be briefly detained to establish their identities, and the ID check should feature a watch list – any lawmakers trying to leave the state can be arrested on sight. The barricades can come down when lawmakers trying to usurp congressional authority to form immigration laws surrender or are apprehended, and new elections clear the decks. There may be a few minority hacks that didn’t act affirmatively in such violation, and they can & should be given asylum with a right of return – after their vacant offices have been refilled by the voter. Sorry… sorting out good from bad takes too long, and we really need to solve the problem before there is no country left to talk about.

      • Darren Rusty

I wish CA would secede from the nation. This is all part and parcel of MAGA and it must happen. Enuf of these stupid fools!

You can bet, San Fran is one place I would NOT desire to go or to live! Sanctuary means ILLEGALS and CRIME! This mayor need be JAILED if he will NOT uphold the law’s!

Yes! Isn’t it amazing how some are permitted to defy federal laws but others aren’t? They lie and defy and they are pampered and pacified. 29 Sanctuary cities or states are identical to 29 Fort Sumpter’s in 1860.

      • Deborah Pratt

As it was stated, they are ‘picking and choosing’ which laws they follow!! Since WHEN, in the history of this country, was that alright?

        • Knowledge Transfer

We don’t have a country because we are governed by a Constitution that is convolutional and unconstitutional to itself. We the people is a joke. I the federal judge is the law of the land. We trust in a system of government that can no longer be trusted. Inch by inch enslavement has always proven a cinch! Take a look at the 10 planks of the Communist Manifesto. We are chocking on them. Then google the Communist Takeover of America and its 45 goals all of which have been [via gradualism and incrementalism] accomplished and are now part and parcel of the American body politic. Here are just a few: “Present homosexuality, promiscuity and degeneracy as normal, natural and healthy.” “Capture one or both political parties in the United States”. “Weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.” Look at all 45 goals all of which were presented to the US House of Representatives and then read into the
Congressional record on January 11, 1963 after decades of Communist infiltration into the highest level of the US government. As an illustrative example, FRANKLIN ROOSEVELT [one of America’s presidents] said;” I see nothing wrong with the Communists in this country. Some of the best friends I have are Communist. One of his close friends was Joseph Stalin – the mass murderer of 20 million of his own people – who said of America: “America is like a healthy body. Its strengths are threefold: Its patriotism, its spirituality, and its morality. If we can weaken these three areas, America will collapse from within.” BINGO!

          • Tony

You are one smart person as you know the past history pretty well, But do you also know that the Social Security Act that F.D.R. passed in 1936 was also a scheme put over on we the people ,Why is because ,all money that was put into our Social Security should of all gone into one’s own Bank Account and not into the hands of people you do not know and then tell you how much they will give you when you retire of an age limit set to receive it .

          • Knowledge Transfer

It’s all part of “from each according to their means to each according to their needs” thus building in class warfare and ceaseless wealth redistribution. Everybody must wear the same size shoe. Everybody gets the same stuff i the same amounts irregardles of talent, meritexcept that no one ever gets enough save for the elites who get what they never earned. Social Security was never meant to be secure. When Roosevelt was warned that the 1932 act would be worthless because the average age of death at the time of passage was lower than the date when Social Security would begin pay-outs. Roosevelt’s Communist response was: “Don’t worry about it. It’s just another tax.”

          • Carrieerh18

Tony, it was a set up for money for his cronies and a well of money for them while we paid in and get very little back. I am with Pres. Trump and even George Bush saying we should be having investment plan and not SS as a choice. AND SS is not a retirement fund at all and even Roosevelt said have separate investment knowing even then that SS was a rip off and look at how much has gone into the General Fund illegally.

          • No name nut case

Exactly. The government puts our money in “safe keeping” for our retirement…but the fund is empty. They are paying current S.S. recipients with the money that workers today pay in! What a Ponzi scheme!

          • backtofront

Stalin’s prediction happening before our very eyes. God Bless Pre. Trump. He is the only leader with the courage to stop it.

And we too must refuse to preside impotent by making sure all those we know and care about understand and put relentless pressure on them and others to put relentless pressure on the perverted STATE. Tolerance is a virtue in men without convictions. We must stop relying on hired hands who don’t really care. We are a country whose history has been blurred so much that blindness now prevails.

          • backtofront

You are absolutely right! Each of us must rouse ourselves and do our part, encouraging others also. Just reading some of the comments from the left confirms the blindness to truth and reality.

          • No name nut case

The left is NOT blind, they want this country to be communist! They are pushing communism onto us! I’m not too sure that both sides aren’t behind it. That is why both parties fought so hard to keep Trump out!

          • No name nut case

We hope he can get it stopped, but he is fighting the ENTIRE Congress! At least he has one thing on his side, he is smarter than they are! He has a VERY high I.Q!

          • bendecido

We must pray for President Trump’s safety and protection, especially since the guy Green wants him impeached. One way of really opening the doors to communism.

          • Carrieerh18

But we still are a Republic by, for and of the people and that means we can enforce our Constitution, and thank God step 44 the last Manifesto step was gone with the defeat of Hillary!

          • Knowledge Transfer

You might be one of the very few who knows we were constructed as a Republic given that even those at the highest levels see us as a democracy. The founders were adamantly against democracies because they always result in mob rule whereby the dumbed down and the lazy keep voting themselves goods and services that are paid for by other people. Article 4 Section 4 of the so called Constitution says: “The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government”. It DOESN’T SAY A DEMOCRATIC form of government. Even the Pledge of Allegiance gets it right when it says: “and to the Republic for which it stands.” The Communists were fond of the word “democracy” because it translates to everyone getting the same things in the same amounts so long as no one – save the elites – ever gets enough of any thing.

          • No name nut case

As the Pledge of Allegiance states “of the people, by the people, for the people.” Yea, right. It is certainly no longer “by the people” (the fight to keep Trump out was evidence of that but thankfully they lost), nor is it “for” the people (the way they govern OVER us is the evidence). It’s only “of the people” because we pay the darn bills and their salaries!

          • Kenneth Jones

The Pledge of Allegiance says no such thing, but Lincoln’s Gettysburg Speech does.

          • No name nut case

You are absolutely right. Sorry about that, but you knew what I meant.

          • R Miller

Think of the irony. What do teenagers want the most? Everything, especially freedom, no more parent controls, and they hate anyone else who sets bounds or limits. They see the way to everything-free with socialism, but have not been taught how socialism works. Socialism is living under the control of everything from the “State” elite, aristocrat, who designs everything and meets out what the riffraff can have, how much, what color, when and where. Socialism cannot stand with opposition, no free press, given free school, if you want to be told what school you go to and what you are allowed to study. No more excesses anywhere, the elite will design the system to balance everything, produce only what they see fit, in the size and color they see fit, in beautiful factories designed by them, located where they are most efficient, making only what is needed as determined by the same elite. No waste, except they don’t make what the public wants, they tell the public what to want. Everything, EVERYTHING is controlled by the elite commissars. Sadly this is because the kiddies are not taught the values of capitalism and socialism or how they work. Kinda like toddlers in a crib wanting everything they cannot reach.

          • Knowledge Transfer

Exactly! Pampering and pacifying are easy like weak teachers who give everyone A’s in order to be popular!

          • No name nut case

Yup! We are fighting it with all of our being, and they fight to get it. As soon as there are not enough of us to keep them out of “what they want” they will get “what they want.” Then it won’t take them long to figure out that they are imprisoned by the system with no way out.

          • No name nut case

            Franklin Roosevelt was a communist!

FDR was President when I was born, and died in 1945, when I was 9. I doubt you’ll find anyone from that era who’d agree with you.

          • Kenneth Jones

Actually, FDR didn’t trust Stalin, and neither did Churchill. He was only a useful ally insofar as fighting Germany was concerned. After the war, though, he showed the world what he was really up to, and the rest is history.

The infiltration of Communists into the highest levels of the US government. Like Roosevelt said: “I see nothing wrong with the Communists in this country. Some of the best friends I have are Communists.” These scholarly researched books should be required reading for all Americans.

        • deerflyguy

It is not alright! In 1861-1865 we fought a bloody civil war because one group of states wanted to go their own way! It isn’t any different now except that we’re dealing with maverick cities and a maverick state and they are strung out all over the place. More states will be added to the mix, and maybe more cities, too, if we drag feet over this issue! Procrastination is not the answer to questions, easy or hard! It takes action and prompt response to keep issues like this one from getting out of hand!

          • No name nut case

Which group are you referring to which “wanted to make up their own rules and go their own way” which started the Civil war”? It is an ambiguous statement which could refer to either side.

          • Kenneth Jones

They were Virginia, Georgia, North and South Carolina, Florida, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas. They believed in States’ Rights and individual sovereignty of each state. Actually, there was no United States of America until after the war.

        • Kenneth Jones

          Never!

      • Ed Anderson

        Brilliant comparison with Ft. Sumpter!

Thank you! This country has killed itself.

          • Ed Anderson

I don’t believe the country is quite dead yet, but the Dems, libs & commies are doing their best to finish it off.

          • Knowledge Transfer

There are several classic forms of SOVEREIGN SUICIDE: Debasement of the currency; amassing unsustainable debt; open and porous borders; costly foreign wars; political corruption; and the granddaddy of them all MORAL DEGENERACY. Thus too much inter-generational damage has been done beyond the power to correct itself. Too many cancer cells have been welcomed into the body politic. Cancer cells metastasize. What has been broken can’t be fixed inside the same broken system that allowed the brokenness to occur. We need to re-engineer the entire system and forever remove the errors that have embedded themselves by building the system so that such errors can’t possibly ever enter again.

          • irene

When OTHER country’s citizens start using OUR LAWS & RULES to benefit themselves, we’re as good as dead! While we’re fighting with each other, “isis, moslims & middle easterners ” are taking over our country and laughing all the way to the bank!!! They have NO ETHICS, NO LOVE of GOD, No COMPASSION, ARE LIARS & THIEVES, FIRST to SUE, (using our laws against us), ETC!

What has and is happenIng to the USA has and continues to be PREMEDITATED and ORCHESTRATED. We are on the way to ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT and the pesky USA needs to be destroyed from within for that to become a reality. Once that occurs humanity as we know it will begin the process of making human beings extinct.

    • Carl

      Yes, very good post.

    • moma

Add the state government to that list of the ones that need to be jailed.

      • Kenneth Jones

You won’t get an argument from me!

    • Firewagon

Not just the mayor, that Sheriff that cut this whack loose, also.

    • Carrieerh18

Which is why we stopped going there as too dangerous, filthy, way too much more homeless than before, and rape, robbery, murders (guns and knives), good restaurants have left and those left have become more expensive and lousy food. LA another caldron of this filth.

    • Darren Rusty

It’s called TRASH, Homer. You can’t fix STUPID, no matter how hard you try.

    • No name nut case

Who is going to jail the mayor? The people of Mexifornia elect the mayors, senators, and representatives.
We just need a wall around Mexico and California. There are probably as many illegals in California as there are Mexicans in Mexico.

      • deerflyguy

The people of liberal bastions of socialism don’t elect anybody! Those who count the votes do! Liberals really don’t believe that Hillary received a plurality of the votes, do they? No way that anyone as crooked as she, and the democrat party, could win an election except by fraudulent measures! Ask Bernie, if he would be truthful, if he believes that Hillary beat him fairly for the party nomination? The fact is that Hillary and the democrat party screwed even the party faithful out of its true nominee, and through a rigged election process, where even illegal aliens voted, they still couldn’t win!

        • No name nut case

I happen to agree with you about the nomination. Hillary is as crooked as they come. Some day, with any luck, she will be sent to prison! But, that said, I wouldn’t want Bernie either. He is a socialist communist. Liberalism is bad enough, so I definitely prefer to keep both communism and socialism out of our country.

    • Cheryl Detar

I visited San Fran, about 20+ years ago. I was a lovely city THEN. What a shame, it has turned into Mexifornia and a lefty paradise.

    • bendecido

Homer San Fran used to be, (in the past mind you) a great city. I was stationed in El Presidio Army camp and it was a beautiful one. I guess now it is overrun by gays and illegals. Just like you, they would not catch me there for all of the money in the world.

  • Been There

The only thing that I would change in the punishment clause of this bill would be to mandate a one million dollar fine not up to a million dollar fine and to cut all federal aid to the offending cities. Leave no loop holes for the lawyers to negotiate but that would be too much to ask.

    • Rodney Dietz

Add one more requirement since it’s an elected official. No tax payer dollars can be spent to defend or pay fines levied by the law. Since it’s the officials own “unlawful decision” and no the state, no tax dollars can be used at all.

  • Linda Conino

Send this bill to the President, and let ALL politicians who are for the GOOD of Americans pass this law. If you do not sign for the bill, than please people of America VOTE these NO GOOD POLITICIANS OUT OF OFFICE. Thank you!

  • mahaska

There is no need for another bill, there is already a federal law that applies to these individuals, 8USC1324
covers what they are doing and is still on the books. DOJ enforce the law as written. Don’t try to re-invent
    the wheel again…..

    • pappy450

Obviously, You can see that there IS a LAW, BUT the “officials” because of their “political preferences” and “PERSONAL OPINIONS”, WILLFULLY IGNORE IT, and do what they damn well please. SO yes indeed, hold the responsible “officials” in contempt, and throw their BUTTS in a cell. THEY, no matter HOW “important” they THINK they are or what “title” they hold, makes them above the law anymore then the rest of us “common people” that have to put up with these CRIMINALS INVADING, and those “officials” “RUNNING” OUR CITIES.

      • mahaska

Then it is up to us to get rid of these self serving people. As far as the govt enforcing any
taking away of firearms, that would be illegal and they don’t have the resources to do it.
If you think the boots on the ground military will do it, guess again. I’m retired from the
armed forces and can tell you, the generals may want to do it, however the rank and file
will not go after their own people. The military has a obligation to obey only “LAWFUL
ORDERS”, not the whims of the establishment. The retired regular military and local
law enforcement are ten times the available federal officers that could be required to
confiscate weapons from the citizens of this country. Its would definitely lead to civil
unrest. I hope the Deep State that comprises these Progressive Marxist will stop
smoking their breakfast and own up to their responsibility to this Nation. We can
only pray they will. When I say get rid of these people, I mean vote them out.

        • pappy450

As far as the “military” goes, THAT is why OSCUMBAG FIRED any General that didn’t “agree” with HIS “agenda” and also tried to PUSH more and more illegal immigrants and MORE “transvestites” IN, so they would follow the “orders” of the “deep state” and NOT the true Commander-in Chief. A friend of mine that was in the Military, (retired CW4) told me that all the time he was in, he was asked SEVERAL TIMES if he would “follow the order” to shoot AMERICAN citizens if he was so ordered to do so, (by his Commanding General on post.) MANY of the “newer soldiers” said they WOULD.

  • jdbixii

While the states of the Union often have propositions for their voters to either approve or disapprove, we do not have a national referendum by which the will of the majority of the people can determine public policy with regard to issues which ought not to be decided by the elected representatives of the Congress. Think of what this could mean for the issues which have been the favorite, partisan-political, highly controversial and divisive matters which both congress and the courts have passed, sometimes, defying the moral and ethical values of the majority of voters. Issues such as; abortion, legalizing sodomy, homosexuality, same-sex marriage, border enforcement, sanctuary cities, immigration, debt ceiling, deficit spending, etc. These issues transcend state lines and affect the personal and public security of Americans. That we leave these issues to be decided by people in Washington who are ensconced in an atmosphere of exceptional security and privilege which leaves them, largely, unaffected by or unsusceptible to the liabilities which some of these issues are for the general public, means that they are making law concerning issues which will, likely, never affect them, personally. In other words, they could care less! Education presupposes not only the right but the legal obligation to inform young people in such a way that they do not (re)present a threat or liability to others or themselves. Arguably, every one of the aforementioned issues, because of the reasons for which they are controversial—they go against fundamental, moral and ethical values which have a beneficial purpose for humanity—should be determined by national referendum, since both the congress and the courts have taken a politically-expedient position with regard to them which purports to allow a “freedom of choice,” which, fundamentally, is a cop-out for the expressed failure of the exercise of proper choice, with respect to moral law, in the first place. What the country has allowed to happen for over 50 years is, essentially, the denigration of basic discipline, in all of the various connotations of definition.

    • Roger Martin

Referendums do not matter if Liberal Judges can throw out the ones they do not like.

  • royaler

What a waste of a beautiful city & state, liberalism is the curse of them all!

  • Jerry Hughes

Absolutely agree, pass the law making it a federal felony to aid and abet the criminal aliens, carrying a mandatory 4 year minimum prison sentence.
Let’s see if the liberal dem bloodsuckers want to buy their votes badly enough to go to jail and lose their right to vote as convicted felons.

    • Roger Martin

We need to end the Socialist Democrat practice of giving convicted felons the right to vote for them.

      • Deborah Pratt

The ‘liberals’ of Alabama found a ‘loop-hole’ in that law. If a person is convicted of a ‘felon’ he/she cannot vote. However, many of the people in the prisons are not considered ‘felons’ and, therefore’ still maintain ‘voting’ privileges! So, they went into the prisons and informed them they can still vote, in an attempt to destroy Judge Moore’s chances of winning their election. This wasn’t done with the ‘lofty’ intention of blocking a ‘sexual predator’ from obtaining office, as they say!! It was an attempt to block a Republican from taking office rather than a Democrat!! Once again–another lie. Judge Moore tends to back Pres. Trump’s decisions and that weakens the Democratic ‘power’ play!!

        • Carrieerh18

Need a better governor in AL to repeal/remove this HOLE as prisoners should never again have permission to vote, PERIOD!

        • Kenneth Jones

Anyone convicted of a felonious act is a felon…pure and simple! There is no other definition.

    • james Conner

Guess what the State of Ca. Democrats are registering Felons just like Alabama to vote! SAD SAD SAD
They are pushing to change the Laws of our Country to allow Prisoners a Constitutional right to vote. The American Civil Liberties Union is supporting their efforts. The Liberals have gone Mad, but remember how many of Hillary’s people ended up committing suicide. Even with two bullets to the Head

      • Don Lindsey

Or back with different caliber guns!

      • Kenneth Jones

And they were caught doing it! Dead to rights!

  • Stop giving the sanctuary states and cities federal funds. They should be complying with Federal Law. Legal immigration is the only people that should be allowed in. Illegals should not get one cent of tax payer dollars and if found that they are they should be immediately deported. This is where the future of the democrat party gets there voters because once the stupid college graduates get away from being indoctrinating they wake up and realize they have been lied to and leave the democrat party.

  • Robert D

They should be held accountable and charged with accessory charges. Send one to jail and THAT would stop their bullcrap quickly.

    • Roger Martin

I vote for the Mayor of San Francisco be the first charged
with aiding and abeting & obstruction of justice.

      • ch

As well as Governor Brown for making it a sanctuary state. He is aiding and abetting about 20 million ILLEGALS

        • Deborah Pratt

He’s the ‘biggest’ fish in their pond and needs to be ‘caught and hauled out’!!

          • Frank

McCain [alias: McShame] is much worse

    • Deborah Pratt

Send ‘several’ to jail, to show we really ‘mean it’!!

  • Dennis

Just think for a moment about the law that states you can not aid and abet criminals or you too could go to jail. Isn’t that always in play. They broke the law coming across the border illegally and that is a Federal security issue, not a state level issue. States on the borders are affected but it is still a Federal issue and the president is the one who overseas that the laws are carried out in this country at the Federal level. The judges that rule against him do not have the right to the president’s domain of making sure that the safety of this country is maintained.

    • Roger Martin

It is time to enforce all the laws we have or change them.

    • moma

Need to put those judges??? in jail to. They are breaking the law also.

    • Kenneth Jones

Anyone who knowingly abets anyone who commits a felony is a felon himself.

  • ray2hill

The courts will make short order of that. The Sessions justice department is trying to Flint, MI water system every city’s police department. How did that work out in Flint? Any member of Congress who supports this measure should spend some time in prison and will spend some time in the unemployment line.

    • Rodney Dietz

You really are an idiot, Just trying to piss people off for your own enjoyment is just as sick as these liberals skirting the law. Get a life Ray. You have no desire to contribute meaning discussion or commentary.

    • Wayne Olmsted

Look out! The @s$ is back to BRAY at us again!

    • bttrap

did some one lift up that rock you live under? go back under and stay there !!!

  • tes d’aless

I as a True American, can’t understand how lawbreakers get away with this stuff! They are putting Americans lives in danger and other morons think this is ok. Get rid of these dopes, please! Better yet send them out of this country, they add nothing good here.

    • Roger Martin

No one should be above the law.
If it is a bad law, change it.

    • moma

the elite liberal left think they are above the law. It is time to show them they are not. They all get the go to jail card.

    • Carrieerh18

tes, we elected/hired them to represent us but their greediness and power hungriness took over and we allowed them to stay in office and even stupidly re-elected them. So we have to blame ourselves for allowing legislators and legislation to happen without OUR vote and no aliens and no double voting (at least in CA they have to vote in their precinct and not any where else) and we must require photo IDs to vote and not someone’s envelope with an address. As an ongoing election official it was amazing in the Nov. 2016 election that we asked for their address (so we could check if they were in the correct precinct) everyone brought out their driver’s license which has their photo proving that many do want photo IDs for someone to vote. Even today one supermarket wanted to see my ID because with so many aliens stealing, this is becoming a necessity. We have allowed this so we must disallow it and stop talking about it.

      • Kenneth Jones

Our local supermarket and retail stores are checking IDs…..thank God.

  • got my licence

Let’s see, So the left will not follow federal laws when it comes to immigration and scream states rights but are demanding that citizens with a marijuana cards must turn in their guns. It appears that the lefts definition of justice is that the laws do not apply to them, JUST-US.

    • ch

Yup, get the people stoned, then ask for their weapons and they say “sure man whatever you want”

  • It’s no longer just official’s in CA that are supporting sanctuary city’s… the Governor [Brown] has stated CA is a sanctuary state. Please drain the swamp Donald.

  • Roger Martin

“We doubt there’s much chance of Rep. Rokita’s bill getting through to the president’s desk.”
It is time to curculate a petition supporting this law.
I am eager to sign it.

    • Deborah Pratt

Me too!! Where do I go to do that????

      • lufkincy

        And also me!

  • Being a citizen of the bay area in California, I have long held the view that California government (local included), are a bunch of IDIOTS! Now we have Ed Lee, an IDIOT of epic proportions, holding his breath and stomping his feet like a six year old, telling the Federal government to basically go to hell! I cannot wait to hear what song he is singing on his way to Federal prison, And Moonbean Jerry brown in buddy cuffs right beside him! Brown is nearing the finish line with his failed terms as governor (he cannot run again), but that will not stop the feds from bouncing his IDIOTIC ass right into prison!! I myself, hope to hell this bill passes, if it does not, there will be some really pissed off people in this country!!!!

    • Rodney Dietz

I feel for you Jeffrey. I’m in a city between Dallas/Fort Worth Texas. Both have gone Sanctuary “not as obvious as Cali” but Border States are under extreme assault and Jail time should be an easy decision considering there going directly against Federal Law! This no different than me becoming mayor of my town and declaring it a new country, with our own laws inside of USA. If these idiots don’t agree then change the law instead of breaking them!

    • Deborah Pratt

For the sake of all the ‘decent’ people still living in California–I pray this goes through. People need to ‘demand’ that it does!! We know Pres Trump will sign it–no problem. He’s been trying to with-hold funds from these states but the courts keep blocking him. Well, they tried blocking his travel ban, too, but that finally passed!! Persistence pays!! Pres Trump is like a ‘bull-dog’ and we’re so glad he is!!

  • Rodney Dietz

Anyone have a good list for GOP senators email that average public can write to them? I found most senators email not available if your not in there district. Even my own Senator “Ted Cruz” had to write in my address before allowed to send an email. Of course I got back a chain letter not related to my subject.

    • ch

All senators, not just the GOP. The demoncratic senators will need the most letters.

Try this link, you will have to click on each person and send an email thru their site, but they are listed.

      http://www.conservativeusa.net/mega-cong.htm

      • Rodney Dietz

Thank you, I encourage everyone else to do the same. This truly is a crisis for the country, not just California!

  • TwoElks

THIS is a law whose time has come ! Getting it passed into law and enforced would be a challenge however.

  • Sandra Becker

Finally some common sense. How can we let these politicians keep defying federal laws. They seem to be working for Mexico, not us U.S. citizens.

    • ch

It is for their future votes

  • Sharon Melvin

It is about time! Sanctuary cites are breaking the Federal Law and have been getting by with it for far too long! I am so sick of politicians who think they are above the law and ordinary citizens suffering because of it.

    • Deborah Pratt

I totally agree but, keep in mind–this bill was just ‘introduced’!! It has not been signed into law yet!! We need to demand that that happens!!

      • Sharon Melvin

        I totally agree!

  • Deborah Pratt

This bill has ‘finally’ been introduced and we need to ‘demand’ that it gets to President Trump’s desk!!! It’s long over-due and critical to the safety of our country! We know Pres Trump will sign it and so do the ‘liberals’ that will try to block it!! That cannot be ‘allowed’!! That it be ‘passed’ and ‘signed’ is the will of the ‘people’ and not to be crushed by the will of the Congressional ‘few’!! PUSH FOR IT!!!!

  • Max Thor

California resident and I agree with this approach. These elected officials are sworn to up hold the laws and are choosing, CHOOSING, which ones they want to enforce..This is total bullshit..In California if you are Illegal Mexican you can do what you want and stay out of jail, thanks to Jerry Brown and his Demwits

  • Carl

Get these so called city officials into a drug rehab program that is the best we can do for them since they refuse to stop smoking their crack, and just because the mexcans supply it to them is the reason they do this sort of criminal behavior. FBI needs to investigate the State of California.

  • Terry

Lived in California all my life 67 yrs. . Start here shut off all funds to state and city’s , and start by jailing Gov. Moonbeam Brown and work your way down the latter from one end of the state to the other . This California not Mexifornia

    • Terry

The way it is going, soon will be. I am truly sorry for that.

  • joe joe

SOLD SIGN ON THE DOTTED LINE!!!

  • CBUJAN

I have been saying this for a long time, the politicians of sanctuary cities and states should be convicted of a felony for not enforcing our immigrations laws. They took a oath to enforce the law of the land and now they are refusing to enforce our laws. They belong in prison.

  • Donald Lindsey

Right on, 5 years at very hard labor, don’t let them sit on their asses.

  • BigC

Put them in jail with the illegal bastards they love so well, then we’ll see how long the love-affair continues to blossom!!

  • BigC

Build the WALL and make it go up along the Eastern boundaries of Kalifornia, Washington and Oregon, for good measure!!

  • tankyou

a good reason to have fema camps.

  • james Conner

Darren, Ca. Is not building bigger jails. They bring in the Illegal immigrant, then turn him loose before ICE comes. They are given out of jail card for they are protected like a Wolf! Gov. jerry brown has made the whole State a Sanctuary for Illegals. Jerry wants as many Illegals he can get for the Census Bureau counts the Illegals then Ca. gets more Electoral Votes. Plus, Jerry has allowed them to vote if they have a driver’s license! But in Ca. one can buy fake ID on the streets of LA.
The whole State has gone Rogue, for Conservatives are not allowed to speak!
No wonder the Rest of the Country has to use their TAX MONEY to Bail Ca. out of Bankruptcy. Jerry Brown signed off on Transexual Verbage, better not call one by the worng sex or go to jail.

  • Allen

Yea, I love the acronym SLAPA. Unfortunately, I am not holding my breath until one of these cities is SLAPAd in the face.

  • jerrycollie

The new law needs a special clause making it illegal to order an underling to not to comply with a lawful Federal request to hold an illegal alien for deportation; as well as a clause making it illegal for an underling to comply with such an order. In other words; send them all to Federal prison, from the Mayor down to the jailer; and throw the illegal alien in the same cell with them.

  • Mary C. Blood

I question why we need another law to enforce the laws of our land already on the books. Everyone who is sworn into office in California takes an oath to uphold those laws. U.S. law is written for EVERYONE in the nation to obey. Arrest the miscreants already!

  • Harland Mayes

In effect , Kates murderers are all the city council , the mayor…as accomplices. How can it be any clearer? Oh and the judges who have turned a blind eye to the release of the murdering animal into the population.

  • jerrycollie

A simple solution would be to deport these illegals; before their sentences are up, or they are eligible for release on probation.

    • backtofront

And build the wall so they cannot re-enter.

LOS ANGLES SUES OVER TRUMP’S CRACKDOWN ON SANCTUARY CITIES

REGARDING: The court papers argue that pulling funding from cities would threaten public health and safety, while noting that forcing local law enforcement agencies to become arms of federal immigration agencies would lead to a loss of cooperation between immigrants and police, with victims or witness of crimes opting not to come forward out of fear of deportation.

RESPONSE: That offering is spurious, at best, and more adequately should be characterized as idiotic.

No one has asked any venue to become an “arm” of ICE or another Federal agency in the matter of unauthorized visitors.

The politicians leading these various venues have taken Oaths of Office, which includes swearing to uphold the U.S. Constitution and laws and legislation promulgated by Congress.

Rather than upholding their Oaths of Office, they are conspiring to violate law.
They should be punished no less than any citizen who would be involved with aiding and abetting illegal activities.

I, strongly, suggest the DOJ select one target venue, bringing criminal charges against those responsible for advocating, condoning, and sanctioning these illegal activities. One conviction leading to a combination of fines, community service, incarceration, and loss of position should end the concept of sanctuary venues.

    ADDITIONALLY:

REGARDING: Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti signed an executive order March 21 directing the city’s harbor and airport police to follow Los Angeles Police Department Special Order 40, which has been in place since 1979. It prohibits officers from initiating any police activity for the sole purpose of identifying someone’s immigration status. RESPONSE: I absolutely agree regarding “initiating any police activity for the sole purpose of identifying someone’s immigration status”, but, if, during the ordinary course of police activity, an unauthorized visitor is recognized as such, the local jurisdiction must notify ICE for further disposition. ICE must pick up the unauthorized visitors within a limited period, e.g., six hours to mitigate costs to the local jurisdiction.
NOTE: The differentiation of criminal unauthorized visitors versus non-criminal unauthorized visitors is a red herring. The goal should be the minimization of unauthorized visitors.

All of this crap about sanctuary cities is simply undoable crap. The members of the city counsels or even the members of the CA legislature that voted for the sanctuary state are protected by the same ‘Speech and debate’ that protects via Art. I of the Constitution, the members of the US Congress from prosecution for their votes. In other words – not going to happen. Then there is the not giving Federal Grants to the Sanctuary Cities, which is also unconstitutional because it would amount to treating the taxpayers as a whole diferently from those in other cities for the actions of their legislative bodies – aka as violating the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment. Last week Trump complained about the imbalance in trade with Mexico, and so I would like to invite you to go to the produce department in your grocery store and look at the source of their produce. With our public hysteria about Mexicans, we no longer have the migrant labor necessary to produce the same vegies in the US, so we are importing the vegies from Mexico and elsewhere S. of the Border, and if not for NAFTA, Mexico could raise its priced by charging an export duty, so lets build the wall, pull out of NAFTA and then see what happens. While Trump is claiming that the Great Wall would stop the smuggling of drugs into the US, the Commandant of the Coast Guard has said that its obsolete and inadequate fleet of Coast Guard Cutters has left them without the resources to both stop small vessels carrying drugs and to do its primary duty to save lives at sea. Lets cut taxes on the Corporations even more and see if they can replace the Coast Guard. Right now it is in the best interest of the private drug markets not to have the new resources needed by the coast guard – would Trumps tax return show that he has a heavy investment in the importation of drugs from Latin America – it is very profitable you know.

Put the law breaking SONSABITCHES along with all their illegal immigrants on a 1000 mile march like they did the Indians years ago !!

Now your talking, these arrogant SOB’s think we citizens have to follow each on of their laws they thrust upon us but set an example of disrespecting a Federal law so outlandishly creating sanctuary cities giving the middle finger to established law it’s time to hold each and everyone who signs on to that position made to face significant penalties up to and including going to jail. Please go after Moonbeam Brown first who just forced all of Californian’s to be unlawfully included in his terrible leadership decision to force us all to live under that gross mandate he just set.

  • NOW YOU’RE TALKING!!!!! LOCK THEM UP!!!!

  • Firewagon

“San Francisco is and always will be a sanctuary city.” Yesser, and that Sheriff that released the Steinle woman’s killer should be facing his own murder charges – law is already on the books, in that regard! Probably won’t be prosecuted, however, he will go to his grave with “Kate Steinle’s blood on his hands!”

  • Attilathehun

Let it ride for awhile. California is imploding from debt and corruption. We can soon pick up the pieces and put it back together as a solid conservative state. Or they will starve.

  • Not A Farmer

We have laws over lapping laws already on the books. Todd Rokita (R-IN) didn’t need to introduce another bill that already exists. He just needed to re introduce the bill others are ignoring.

  • Carrieerh18

Just what is needed as these criminals need to be arrested and fined. We can send an email to Pres. Trump via white.gov/contact#page and let him know this republican is wanting to get this bill in and passed by Congress and then our president can do his thing to get it done. In CA we are sick and tired of sanctuary cities and want each and everyone to lose their grant money. We were not asked to vote to be a sanctuary city and that is and was a gross mistake that any legislature local or state think it or its governor has the right to allow/create these crime centers. Time to let them be part of the problem for arrests and fines and the sooner the better to get the aliens out of America asap. Our small city has exponentially rising crimes of all sorts and even aliens sent by bus to our city making the city even more dangerous. This crap has to be stopped and now! Just think of England as a sanctuary country for muslims and what is happening there and now spreading with aliens here and people in any official capacity allowing it.

  • Truman Ellis

I certainly can support the senator bill.

  • James Andrews

Pass this bill, as well as National Concealed Carry Recipocity~!

  • Ed Anderson

We all need to get on the phone to our Senators and Reps and tell them that while they’re passing this law, they should also pass Kate’s Law….immediately if not sooner!

  • John Centonze

I think I’ll act like a politician and pick and choose which laws I will obey! Let’s see. This week I won’t follow laws against murder. Next week laws against grand larceny. The week after that… Oh yes, I don’t expect to be held accountable for any of my actions.

  • Carey Gilbert

finally some one with a brain !!!!!!!!!!

  • KC

NICE ! DRAIN THE SWAMP ,,,, ONE UN AMERICAN SCUMBAG AT A TIME .

  • Antone Cafe

About time. No D’s. We prosecute Christian Bakers for not making sodomite cakes??? They are within their constitutional rights. These local politicians are not! Great. Write your congress reps now!!!

  • RLK

Dear President Trump, USAG Jeff Sessions and ICE Director
    Tom Homan’s,

On August 3, 2017, the Sheriff for the County of Sonoma, CA released an illegal immigrant [Nery Israel Estrada-Margo] from the county jail even though ICE had requested he be detained for deportation on charges of domestic battery.
Two weeks later, he was arrested for killing his girlfriend [Veronica Cabrera Ramirez – who had two teen daughters] after a domestic dispute.

During this incident, Director Homan’s angrily stated that he was seriously considering seeking legal action against the Sonoma County Sheriff and its elected leaders for intentionally defying our nation’s immigration laws and instead, choose to aid and abet this criminal illegal alien; in accordance with the penalties stipulated in the law.

Director Homan’s went on to say that if any of his own officers had gotten killed or injured because of Sonoma Counties unlawful “Sanctuary County” laws, he “would” take such actions.

My question to Director Homan, President Trump and USAG Sessions is, “why wait?”…. the immigration law clearly stipulates that, “A local government commits a felony when it knowingly assists illegal aliens due to personal convictions”.
The penalty for harboring is a fine and 5 years in prison.
Where the crime causes serious bodily injury or places the life of any person in jeopardy, the penalty is a fine and up to twenty years’ imprisonment.
If the criminal smuggling or harboring results in the death of any person, the penalty can include life imprisonment.
Conspiracy to commit crimes of sheltering, harboring, or employing illegal aliens is a separate federal offense punishable by a fine of up to $10,000 or five years’ imprisonment.

President Trump, USAG Sessions and iCE Director Homan, our federal immigration law and its penalties are clearly specified and as you can see, local “elected” leaders are not exempt and in fact are clearly specified
in the language of the law.

Per Director Homan’s warning in August/2017, I hope you will consider taking the necessary legal steps required to indict the elected leaders in both San Francisco, Sonoma County and any others who are considered culpable and bring them up on charges for their corrupt behavior for intentionally defying our nations laws and that they be charged to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Their foolish and corrupt agenda led directly to the tragic deaths of both Kate Steinle and Veronica Cabrera Ramirez, and it is time for these elected’s to pay the price for their foolishness.
And now we can add the rape of this 62 year old lady by an illegal alien to the list of reasons why we need to hold elected leaders of Sanctuary City’s accountable for their criminal behavior.

  • Chauncey

I personally have been one huge fan of the “bay city” San Francisco! I am a much larger supporter of us closing our borders! FOREVER! I was raised in the Air Force and when we moved back to the states and I lived at Lake Tahoe, I was a huge fan of San Francisco! HUGE! I was living in S.F. when the IDIOT Brown was elected into office and I could NOT get out of the state of California fast enough I moved back to Las Vegas and watched the State of California go to hell in a mexicant made basket!! Jerry Brown was and IS one of THE largest abortions ever elected into office. He rode his fathers coat tail and it is ONLY because of his name, that he was elected!~ Yet Jerry was NOTHING like his father-NOTHING! Yet there he was riding his fathers coat tail in order to get elected! The city of San Francisco has ALWAYS been doomed due to the fact it was basically a city for FAGS! Now it is being called a city for the UNWANTED!!– EXCUSE ME AMERICA- ESPECIALLY SAN FRANCISCO-CALIFORNIA, YOU WEIRD NASTY PEOPLE ASKED FOR EXACTLY WHAT YOU NOW HAVE!.. But NOT with MY tax dollar! HELL NO- GO TO HELL!~ What the hell is good about S. F. anymore, fags and illegals???? keep your city! WE WILL keep our tax dollars to ourselves before you get OUR money! Please- San Francisco go to hell with your “gays’ & nasty ILLEGALS! But THIS is going to happen WITHOUT OUR MONEY! YOU people fund your own diseases, including illegals! Get OUT of MY pocket book and MY life! I will NEVER even visit S.F. ever again! And if ALL you total IDIOTS do NOT vote OUT that nasty Brown, you deserve him! OH BOY do YOU deserve him!

  • Bob Nettles

All I can say is that it about time, if they do not want to obey the law of the land they should spend time in a Federal Prison, and by the way I feel they should throw away the key.

  • Dan Menard

If they are going to send supporters of sanctuary cities to prison, please start with our governor here in CA!
With his liberal agenda, the states conservatives would not miss him one it!

  • John W.H.

Lock the useless douchebag Judges up, that let scum bags off with a pat on the ass !! Right beside the ignorant politicians who believe that the law does not apply to them !!

  • No name nut case

I certainly hope they can pass it! Without borders and control of who is in our country, we don’t have a country!

  • Maggiemae

YES, YES, YES….I am 100% in favor of this!!!!! So sickening that people elected in any state/city/community are NOT willing to do ALL that needs to be done to protect their own citizens. Disgusting. Getting rid of ALL these Governors, Mayors, etc.would save lives, tax payers money and a sense of sanity in these communities.

  • Shelba Herring

Hope this bill can get past in the house of representatives and the senate so Trump can sign it into law, the US needs it in the worst possible way

  • Dan

As a US citisen I don’t get to pick and choose what laws I obey and as a retired chief LEO I never got to pick and choose what laws I was to enforce and I dam well don’t believe some stuffed shirt jerk of a politician should get away with picking what he will obey. When one law is ignored when will the next law be ignored ? I hope with all my heart this proposed law goes thru but I won’t be my retirement on it.

  • Deplorable Irredeemable Susan

Mayor Ed Lee should be the first one headed for prison and a million dollar fine.
If the bill doesn’t go through, then the ones who vote against it should suffer the same fate.
WE THE PEOPLE know this should have been done long ago.

  • 28H2O48

I don’t think that will fly

  • Thomjeff

This is totally rediculous. There are already laws on the books to deal with this, its called aiding and abetting. These people can be arrested tomorrow. We don’t need any more laws. All we need is an attorney general that will do his job.

  • SNUFFER

SEND THEIR UNLAWFUL ASSES TO PRISON- WE HAVE LAWS IN THIS COUNTRY THAT ARE PUT IN PLACE FOR A REASON- THE NUMBER ONE REASON IS TO PROTECT THE AMERICAN CITIZENS FROM A BUNCH OF NON WANTED ILLEGAL ALIENS TRYING TO OVER THROW THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. THE LAWS ARE MEANT TO ENFORCE OUR FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS CHECKS AND BALANCES AND TO PROTECT THE AMERICAN WORKER AGAINST A GROUP OF LOSERS COMING IN AND DOING SUB-STANDARD WORK ON JOB SITES THUS CAUSING A HAZARD TO THE AMERICAN CITIZEN GOING INTO THESE BUILDING BEING DONE BY THESE SUB STANDARD EMPLOYEES UNDER THE TABLE THAT PAY NO TAXES TO HELP OUT THE SS ADMINISTRATION IN PAYING RETIREE’S IN THE FUTURE. THE PAY NO STATE TAXES EXCEPT FOR GASOLINE AND OTHER GOODS OUTSIDE FOOD FROM SUPERMARKETS. THEY NEED TO GO!! AND STAY GONE!!!

  • kassa1

This so-called bill is bullshit, as there is already federal law on the books for this, as was said by Greg and Jared lawyer on TV. The spineless Republican Party just needs to admit this law, and put those civil servants in jail who have violated federal law and caused a person or death. This needs to be stopped now, just as Trump said little rocket man should’ve been stopped 30 years ago!

  • Virginia Ramos

I agree 100%. Wish they could be put in Jail now. Who the heck do they consider themselves to be disregarding laws as though they are Kings and have risen above them. We the people put them in office and they are suppose to be looking out for our well being. They’ve just gotten, “TOO BIG FOR THEIR BRITCHES” and need to be brought back down to size.

  • James Rederburg

Darren Rusty you are the bomb! Crimes perpetrated, by the Governor of California, MUST be addressed and he MUST be prosecuted for breaking the law he was hired to enforce, therefore violating his oath of office. If he didn’t swear to uphold the law, he wouldn’t BE a governor, so since he has blatantly subverted and attacked the law, he swore to keep, he must be impeached for criminal fraud and prosecuted for sedition and treason! The National Guard has nothing better to do than enforce the law against these criminals we hired.

  • CHARLES S

“In a bill introduced to the House on Monday, Rep. Todd Rokita (R-IN) is pushing for a law that would send local politicians to prison if they are convicted of sheltering illegal immigrant criminals from their rightful deportation.”

About time—-now if only that will be passed……I don’t expect the Democraps to sign it…..

  • James Rederburg

Criminal Governors and judges in our California and Oregon states, are running our Governments by a criminal code of defiance regarding Federal and Constitutional law and must be prosecuted for criminal fraud and treason. I’ll watch for someone, with the brains, necessary to deal with these gangsters once and for all. I’m sick of these terrorists giving muslims and aliens support at the expense of our social security funds.

  • MacZ

I thought when politicians are sworn in they take an oath to enforce all the laws of our Government. Many of these city and state leaders will rail against their law enforcement officers for perceived violations of their oath when it is politically expedient. Just a thought. Might they be hypocritical? Just a thought.

  • Richard Schmidt

This is more likely to get the go ahead from the Supremes than is budgetary threats.
Trump killed Obamacare by witholding reimbursement payments and tax law undoing of individual mandate.
He can promote indictment using this proposed statute, which pols fear far wirse than witholding funds which they make citizens feel as oppression.

  • Perry Fernandez

Finally, we are going to become a country of laws. Rep Rokita is a patriot and should be supported.

  • Dave Fischer

It’s about time…..Illegal is ILLEGAL…..our country has laws, and they should be obeyed….if these liberal assholes who call themselves politicians, want to continually disobey those laws, then screw them….or, as I always say “Pardon my French”…FUCK THEM

  • Heidi Kuhl

God bless Rep. Todd Rokita. As an Indiana Hoosier, I get to vote for him next year for US Senate! And, I promise to. Go Indiana, Go USA, and Go Trump!

  • BH

This follows what I’ve said for a long time. Find out who is responsible for carrying out the ICE regs and arrest that person or people for obstruction of justice. That’s what Mueller would do.

  • Dennis B Anderson

I would wager if an american citizen knew there were illegals, and they could shoot them in a criminal act, illegals would be running for the border. Americans have had enough we owe you nothing. Well take you off shore and see how long you can tread water before you turn into fish food. Rebuild our fish stocks at the same time! You might be able to get SSI without ID, but you can get a boat ride for nothing. That goes for muslims as well youre way past burka time.

  • Ron Dapo

It’s about time these so called, Liberal politicians be held accountable for the criminal activities of the illegal immigrants they protect. Put them in prison period. Maby then they will abide by the laws of our country.

  • Governor Brown of CA has made the whole state a sanctuary city [he needs to be replaced with a real person].

  • DaveyJ

The jail couldn’t be big enough!

    • bttrap

then start hanging them until there is room for more

  • Cadfael

Step one in becoming a nation of laws once again and guaranteeing equality before the law! Term limits for judges step two. Dealing with activist judges, “stare decisis” precedence law and returning our justice system to constitutional law is step three. Dealing with “judge shopping”, and placing penalties on false claim accusations step four. For much too long our judicial system has been allowed to be hollowed out and perverted by those who “hoped” and seek to “change” our country into a globalist controlled communist hell hole.

  • lsutigers2

Why do we need a special law to send politicians to prison? If they have violated existing laws that should be enough to send them to prison. That is the same as illegal immigrants. When they cross our border illegally they have broken our laws and that should be enough to send them back or to jail.

  • jamon377

Any legislator that does not vote for this if and when it comes up should be voted out and replaced with a true honest legislator that cares about our people.

  • bvaughn69@comcast.net

Did some of you folks just get here from the planet URANUS.Remember 2 sets of laws one for them and one for us little people

  • KJHanover

This article talks about this bill and then says it won’t get to the President’s desk. So what’s the point of the article.
There are already laws on the books that should put these cretinous politicians in jail.

  • Ron Sheppard

Trump should assert himself politically. He had every right as President to implement a travel ban . Federal Judges opposing him should be investigated . Hillary, Obama investigated. Any residue employees from Obama in the White House need to be let go. Comey and Mueller investigated for criminal treason. Jeff Sessions needs to be replaced.

  • Robert Wayne

I’ve been wondering for years why nothing is done to these politicians who refuse to uphold the law concerning illegal aliens being in this country. In the meantime small businesses are being crucified and bankrupted by the courts for something like refusing to make wedding cakes for homosexual freaks who want to get “married” to each other.

  • Well, maybe if there are enough normal, mentally stable, intelligent non-pervs left in Congress, there may be a chance that it will be passed. Then would come the matter of someone with the power and mindset to enforce it.

  • Jesusprotectus

The DOJ should have tent prisons on the border. These politicians and illegal alien criminals should be rehabilitated by BUILDING THE WALL. The fines the politicians pay can go into the
Wall fund.. i nominate Sheriff Joe Arpaio as warden.

  • spoken01

all these ideas..how you gonna pay for all this??? electric walls..drones….more ammo….more border patrol with more wquipment…someone to throw bodies……building huge prison facilities….prosecuting politicians…then add the 1.5 trillion deficit increase….dont think cutting medicare for seniors will cover it….lol but it will save us money huh??..

  • Susan Christopherson

See how California is burning up? I think God is cleaning it up!

  • George

I’m skeptical of us needing a new law – that approach in this decade usually means the member of congress hasn’t read the constitution and is likely a colossal jewel of blazing ignorance. The birdbrains in congress don’t read the bills they vote on, and don’t do their own research on balance. That leaves the nation being led by interns fresh out of college, and from the rear at that. How about… a good old fashioned RICO case blended with a civil rights one. Center it around the voter fraud being harbored alongside the public endangerment [of sanctuary cities], and I’m sure that discovery will yield a money trail when needed. Groups that began as duly elected [such as San Francisco’s city council] are effectively seceeding illegally when they bar enforcement of federal law, and they are also effectiveley stealing congressional authority to form an illegal immigration policy. There are other avenues also, but don’t want to go on – it’s a very deep well of federal/constitutional law that can be dropped on the heads of the city hall conspirators who actively pursue public endangerment for sport as a matter of illegally formed policy masquerading as law. But it will take a congress backing up the president by using public hearings under oath to get some indictments rolling.
No more new laws – that’s how Bush 43 got lost in the furniture, as no man can wrap their head around the totality of law on the books, even when they care and give it their all. Obama never cared once his fellow maoists were in place, and Trump is currently gasping for air as the Clintonistas inside State feeds Tillerson the information needed for him to fall flat on his face, and the worms in DOJ writhe around the AG in medusa like fashion to freeze him from taking action. For Trump… firing a truckload of people is his best starting point, then talk to congress and the American people about what needs to be done to stop the assault on our voting booths [and our neighbors] the ‘sanctuary’ crowd is engaged in under color of authority.
