The relationship between the Clinton Foundation and State Department are under question following newly released emails. Judicial Watch released an additional 296 pages, with 44 that were not given to the State Department by Clinton.

The emails raise questions as to the amount of influence the Foundation had on the State Department during Clinton’s tenure as Secretary of State.

Doug Band, a top Clinton Foundation official, lobbied to appoint an unnamed person in the State Department. The former aides at the State Department, Cheryl Mills and Huma Abedin, were sent an email from Band, stating, “it is important to take care of (redacted).” Abedin replied to the email, stating, “personnel has been sending him options.”

The emails were obtained as part of the Freedom of Information Act lawsuit that was filed against the State Department in 2015 by Judicial Watch.

Emails from Band directed Mills and Abedin to help put a Lebanese-Nigerian billionaire, Gilbert Chagoury, in contact with the State Department’s “substance person.” The billionaire is a major donor to the Clinton Foundation.

“As you know, he’s a key guy there and to us and is loved in Lebanon. Very imp,” stated Band in his email. Abedin quickly replied with “It’s Jeff Feltman.” Judicial Watch states that the 44 emails were hid from the American people as they show potential violation of the law.
