In an Orlando rally to kick off his re-election campaign on Tuesday, President Donald Trump warned thousands of his most loyal supporters that it was essential to keep Democrats from winning the White House in 2020. Saying the party “has become more radical, more dangerous, and more unhinged than at any point in the modern history of our country,” Trump said it was more important than ever to make sure Republicans were in charge of the federal government.
“No matter what label they use, a vote for any Democrat in 2020 is a vote for the rise of radical socialism and the destruction of the American dream,” Trump said. “Our radical Democrat opponents are driven by hatred, prejudice, and rage. They want to destroy you and they want to destroy our country as we know it. Not acceptable, it’s not going to happen.”
At one point in his speech, Trump said that it had once been his hope to work in a bipartisan fashion with the party across the aisle. However, he’d come to realize that Democrats were more concerned with pushing their own radical agenda than they were with getting things done on behalf of the American people.
“There’s so many great things we could do right now in a bipartisan way,” he said. “But they’ve been afflicted with an ideological sickness that protects foreign borders but refuses to protect our borders; that promotes jobs overseas but allows our factories to close; that promotes democracy abroad, but shreds our Constitution at home; that declares support for free speech and free thought, but relentlessly suppresses them both; and that constantly savages the heroes of American law enforcement. We don’t want that, we don’t want that.”
Trump said that you didn’t need to look any further than the immigration debate to recognize how off-the-charts loony the Democrats have become.
“On no issue are Democrats more extreme and more depraved than when it comes to border security,” he said. “The Democrat agenda of open borders is morally reprehensible. It’s the greatest betrayal of the American middle class – and frankly American life our country has as a whole. Nobody seen anything like it. People are pouring in – but we’ve stopped them.”
He said it was disgusting to note that none of the Democratic candidates had the courage to stand up for the men and women protecting the border.
“In the ultimate act of moral cowardice, not one Democrat candidate for president, not a single one, has stood up to defend the incredible men and women of ICE and Border Patrol – the job they do is incredible,” he said.
As if to emphasize this point, Elizabeth Warren quickly tweeted: “Donald Trump’s treatment of those seeking a better life in our country is inhumane. Make no mistake: In a Warren administration, we will defend and protect immigrants and their families.”
Oh, there is no mistaking it, Pocahontas. You and the rest of your party have made it abundantly clear where your priorities lie and who your actual constituents are. That’s why you’re going to lose – again – next November.
