Cable News Companies Schedule Vacations around Republican Convention

The Non-Associated Press has reported several major cable news agencies have scheduled vacations for their anchors and executives in advance of the Republican Convention this summer. It is anticipated they will be working double and triple overtime and will need the rest in advance.

Recent reports have indicated the higher likelihood of a contested convention this summer. To be nominated under Republican National Convention (RNC) rules, a candidate has to secure 1,237 delegates. No representative was available at the time this article was written to answer why that number was so significant.

A candidate will not be nominated unless they reach that number. “They can have a majority and not reach the required delegate count. The convention would then be a nightmare,” CNN’s Wolf Blitzer was overheard saying.

Top officials at CNN have reportedly sent their leading execs and anchors away on vacation, knowing they will be working hard during the RNC. The news comes as remaining candidates Ted Cruz and John Kasich promise to challenge front-runner Donald Trump even though he has a significant lead. Other sources say new rules are being implemented and the outcome of these cannot be predicted.

“It would be worldwide chaos,” Ohio governor John Kasich was overheard saying, while Cruz said, “Trump promised riots, it’ll be worse than that. That’s why we need to act now and not later.” Kasich replied by saying, “There’s no doubt I will be the next President of the United States,” in an unrelated statement.

Right now, stakeholders are scheduling vacations to destinations like Aruba, Cancun, Barbados, and Madagascar. Multiple network leaders have warned they will need the rest now. Anchors, spokespeople, and commentators may not survive the ordeal if they don’t, although who said this remains a mystery.
