Liberals Mocking Rick Perry Need to Wake Up and Smell the Facts

We’ve grown accustomed to seeing liberal groups and the mainstream media twist the words of this president and his administration (and, really, all Republicans) to make them seem like a legion of evil, angry dolts, but even in this environment, we were surprised to see how viciously they went after Secretary of Energy Rick Perry. It’s one thing to take someone out of context on some nut-job liberal blog like ShareBlue, where readers basically know what they’re getting into. It’s another for mainstream media sites like The Hill and environmental organizations like the Sierra Club to veer this far into the fake news realm just to score some points.

Last week, Perry was speaking to an event sponsored by Axios when he discussed how it was important to bring fossil fuels to Africa so that villages without electricity would benefit from their use.

“It’s going to take fossil fuels to push power out into those villages in Africa, where a young girl told me to my face, ‘one of the reasons that electricity is so important to me is not only because I’m not going to have to try to read by the light of a fire and have those fumes literally killing people.’ But also from the standpoint of sexual assault,” Perry said. “When the lights are on, when you have light that shines, the righteousness, if you will, on those types of acts. So from the standpoint of how you really affect people’s lives, fossil fuels is going to play a role in that. I happen to think it’s going to play a positive role.”

Now this wasn’t the most eloquent speech we’ve ever heard, but we’re pretty sure that even the dimmest liberal gets the point. When the lights are on, crime goes down. And you can research that point until the cows come home, because the statistics are clear. Even in the U.S., crime has a tendency to skyrocket during temporary blackouts. The correlation between electricity and lowered crime rates is both proven and obvious.

And yet…

“It was already clear that Rick Perry is unfit to lead the Department of Energy, but to suggest that fossil fuel development will decrease sexual assault is not only blatantly untrue, it is an inexcusable attempt to minimize a serious and pervasive issue,” said Michael Brune of the Sierra Club in an effort to get Perry to resign.

As if Perry is just out there making wild claims like, “Without Exxon, sexual assault rates will go up!” And that’s how his comments were characterized by the liberal media. As though Perry was not only diminishing the seriousness of sexual assault but also making a ludicrous play for fossil fuels by capitalizing on the Hollywood scandals. He was clearly speaking about a very specific issue in a very specific place, and it was not “blatantly untrue.” Not at all.

I will NOT comment on the attached story of a special group and Pap John’s pizza who are big supporters of TRUMP. All I will say is it sick… Decent Republicans are better than this.

    • Terry Jensen

not really sure what you mean by this…if you can’t read then that explains everything…I consider myself a decent human being but I also won’t lay down and be run over by dimwits and there seems to be plenty on both sides but to take a simple statement and pick it apart like this is just plain ignorant. If you are that stupid to think Perry said anything but what he actually said makes you one of the dumb ones. If your to stupid to figure the meaning of a NOT so great statement then God is the only one to help people like this. It is statistically TRUE that crime is deterred by light…dark is cover for the sleazy no goods to commit their atrocities…can’t anyone figure this out!!! Common sense down the tube these days along with just being a complete fool.

      • Jigsaw

        So true.

      • Dan

Don’t expect anything but nonsense from over 50% of liberals.

      • mike Thor

That should have read if “you’re too “ stupid instead of your to stupid. Grammar and spelling aside, why do you think that law enforcement officers caution people to “leave your lights on” at night to deter crime? Light lets you see them coming and lets you identify them more easily. Light increases your confidence and decreases fear while improving your aim with defensive weaponry. Even the United States Military declares in their speeches about NVGs or Night Vision Goggles “we own the night” because we can see but the enemy cannot.” The least expensive way to be able to get light at night is with Fossil Fuels. Suprise! Rick Perry was right and the dims have, again, misrepresented Republicans intentionally and maliciously, much to the dims own embarrassment. Sorry dims; the lights are on, back under the rocks!

I have studied the oil industry, its technologies, its philosophies, and its history, since 1980. There is NO energy package that is as clean, portable, abundant, efficient, and safe as the products this industry creates. From a technological standpoint it is likely that this source of energy will not be displaced for another century because of these characteristics.

If you really want to make liberals heads’ explode invest in large petroleum based energy companies and then brag about your gains.

    • Charles

Better than that, buy some Mineral working interest is oil, and gas wells near you. You then get paid when “your” minerals come out of the ground. Telling “that” to commie really does make their heads explode. I think. I really wouldn’t know, as I do not have any friends who are not conservative. And I do own oil and gas working interest. I love those monthly checks when oil is around $100 a barrel!

    • kbmiller

You’re right and I do. Also, ask the FOOLS on the left why fossil fuels became so popular long ago.

      • Dealerdeb1

Capitalism and all the great companies that make enough energy to bring light, heat and cooling to the world should be respected. To me Rick Perry has proven to be a very steady rudder wherever he serves. The idiot libs would rather judge him by a nervous campaign debate mistep on ONE question! Schumer/Dems lie all the time yet they never seem to see that.

The Sierra Club is pointing fingers when they themselves are responsible for the deaths of many Alaskan wolves mothers and their puppies. I’d shut up fast Sierra Club. Your policies have been broken and hurtful to Alaskans and their wildlife! Where do you get off telling anyone how to run things.

FYI: Around 2010 the Sierra Club wanted to expand their lodgings in Alaska and to do so, they had to blast a hill behind the lodge’s property. Did they even investigate if any wildlife was living on that hill before blasting away? No, they did not. As a result, they almost annihilated a whole group of wolves that was using that hill for their dens. Wolves and puppies were everywhere in pieces when they were through. Did they apologize for their ruthless and unresearched actions? No. So what makes them the authorities on anything involving preserving the quality of life? They can’t even take care of the areas they “claim” to care about. What a bunch of liars and opportunists.

Ignore their threats! They have nothing to stand on as truly caring about any living creature — be they four legged or human!

    • Geri Levine

And where did you get this info. Sources?

      • GuardianFlame

I got it firsthand from a man who lived his entire life in Alaska across from the property that the Sierra Club built their meeting lodge. He watched the whole thing go down and tried to stop the contractors who blew up that hill because he knew their were dens full of wolf pups on that hill. The contractors ignored him and the Sierra Club didn’t believe him about the dens, so they blew up that hill. They found the dead wolves and pups afterwards. It’s sad that the Sierra Club says one thing and then does something else.

We met this man and his son at a nice campground in AZ a few years ago. He couldn’t stand the hypocrisy of that organization and needed to get away for awhile. Things in Alaska took a turn for the worse because of the Sierra Club’s tactics. They were not telling the public the truth abt why they were doing things. He said most Alaskans did NOT trust them at all.

That’s my proof — straight from someone who experienced the Sierra Club’s dishonesty firsthand. I wish you could have seen his face and the contempt he has for that organization. That man was more than disappointed, he was devastated. Sad what organizations do when they get $$ and power behind them…

        • kbmiller

That describes the DumbA$$o CROOK party. $$ and power behind them and doing stupid things, then lying about it.

          • Jan123456

            Pot, meet kettle.

    • Deborah Pratt

Hypocrisy is the tell-tale ‘mark’ of the Liberal!! It’s almost ‘branded’ on their foreheads!! They can’t ‘see’ it themselves but, when others look–there it is!

      • GuardianFlame

You got that right! Libs can’t hide that look of idiocy either!

      • Jan123456

Oh come on. You think it’s only liberals that take statements out of context? I can give you a ton that you conservatives do also. Pot, meet kettle.

    • kbmiller

Another example of the unintended consequences of the moronic policies of the LEFT. Remember the mistake at the closed mine, creating ,”Yellow River”?

      • GuardianFlame

Vaguely. Can you refresh my mind and those who are not familiar with the “Yellow River”?

        • kbmiller

          8/5/2015, Colorado, Animus River

          • GuardianFlame

OMG. I looked this up! I remember the yellow water in that river but I didn’t realize the EPA was totally responsible for that deadly disaster. It can be years before lead poisoning shows its ugly head.

And the EPA wants to “clean” up other mines like this?? Are they friggin crazy? Just test the waters around the mines, but keep those clutzy bulldozing idiots out of them! They do NOT know what they are doing!!!

That was the work of people who have no idea of what they are doing – and end up hurting more people instead of helping anyone. The EPA needs to be revised AND COMPLETELY REGULATED so nothing like this happens again. P.T. has a new agency to fix!

          • kbmiller

Yep, the DumbA$$o CROOKS load gummint agencies with wet behind the ears, rookies, inexperienced idealists. Usually as payback ,”Jobs” as rewards for campaign work, donations or familial connections. They really don’t care what the results are, as long as the Lame Stream Media covers for their egregious behavior and announces their, “Good intentions”. PATHETIC

          • GuardianFlame

Have you had to deal with the Millenials now running the business offices around our nation? There is “pathetic” too! There is also absolute unprofessionalism and total irresponsibility. It is frustrating and almost laughable – not so if you need something from that office.

Totally scary that these airheads are being relied on by lawyers and doctors! God help us all!

They are another reason our population isn’t as intelligent as past generations. And “stupid breeds more stupids” in future generations. We have to change this now in our schools because obama/Soros wanted our population stupid not smart. Stupid is easier to control…

    • sox83cubs84

Total hypocrites; the tree-hugger version of PETA.

      • GuardianFlame

Yes they are! Hypocrites all the way!

  • rick meek

    Well ——– PROOF – that you can’t fix stupid…….

  • Rosech Levy

When you have no truth and the Sierra Club does not since the real leader who started it left if a long time ago, then you jump on the denigrating train. Why use common sense is not part of their feeble brains. They almost destroyed us in so many ways until Trump got in and reduced and cut the EPA. Poor countries need help and these idiots would deprive them of it. No charity of hearts and no souls either. Are they living without electricity (lights, TV, appliances), clean water (including sodas, alcohol, etc.), are they not washing their clothes without electricity (I grew up using a washboard here and when I lived/worked outside the USA and that ain’t fun!), getting clothes drycleaned, etc., etc. They don’t stop and think, just jump on the DUMB TRAIN and think they are relevant. NOT!

  • Sol_of_Texas

It is sad that “journalists” know virtually nothing about math, physics, chemistry, biology, and ecology. Then they write about thier misconceptions as though they are fact.

It’s worse when self-proclaimed scientists who populate organizations like the sierra club are equally ignorant or just plain stupid.

  • soldier for liberty

IDIOTS ALL OF THEM !! THERE IS NO ALTERNATIVE!

  • tdg54

How dare Rick Perry identify the obvious. These Sierra psychos would rather the 3rd world stay in poverty.

    • kbmiller

Yes, so they can increase our taxes, and direct how the money is sent to help them, while raking some off the top for their campaigns. That’s the DumbA$$o CROOK way !! See Clinton Haiti rebuild.

  • And so much more than that. The exhaust from these power plants can be captured and used to heat and or cool large ranges of commercial greenhouses in which food crops can be grown also generating hundreds of full time jobs. The CO2 during the day is a fertilizer giving the food bearing plants CO2 enrichment. The water recovered out of the exhaust can either be used in the power plants cooling towers or treated, nutrients added and be used to for irrigation.

At night the CO2 can be transformed into calcium carbonate and bio fuel and bio fertilizer, and even the coal ash has a number of useful purposes, and then sold.
Africa needs all the food it can produce to feed the country.
Rick Perry is on the right road!

  • Thomjeff

Nothing new with liberals. They want to keep everyone in the dark.

  • 23cowboy

The Sierra Club is just another liberal mouthpiece, like so many Hollywood and CA groups that are against anything they did not think of or back. They would rather everyone be in the dark (ages) so no-one can see their crimes of sexual assault, thefts and robberies. The liberals (Democraps) are just like the Communists and are against everything that they do not control.

  • Geri Levine

And this “nut-job” conservative site twists and turns anything and everything anyone says to fit their story – of name-calling, insults and divisness. It’s 1984 in 2017! Never had FAKE NEWS before Dumpf promoted it.

    • kbmiller

“1984” by George Orwell described how big government elitists wring the will out of citizens with their control, while they live, “High on the hog”. Exactly how the DumbA$$o CROOKS do it.

      • Geri Levine

True. Exactly the plan Dumpf, Bannon and the rest of this administration is following.

        • kbmiller

This was way over your head Germi. It’s the Socialists/Communists/DumbA$$o CROOKS who love the big gummint corruption. Nice try though.

  • Jeanne Phillips

If I lived to be 100 years old, I would NEVER vote for Michelle!

    • Joan Ferrantesimplyme

Who the hell would vote for it!!!!

  • Richard B

Sexual abuse of any kind will not be ameliorated by the burning of fossil fuels. Mr Perry is dead wrong here. He just wants more pollution in Africa.

    • guitarman122763

yeah real intelligent statement,,,,he just wants more pollution ,,,what a moronic statement!! Did you know that aids runs rampant in that country because of rape,,that is a fact ,,,,look it up moron,,,

    • kbmiller

Dick, you just polluted this site.

  • A. Jay

Impossible to get thru to the thick head liberal geniuses that demonize anything from the Trump administration. Rick Perry has more sense in his dirty socks than all the morons combined!

    • Joan Ferrantesimplyme

How the hell do you know his socks are dirty?????? Roflmdao!!!!

      • A. Jay

O.K. his dirty undershorts then!!! Let’s see you touch that one buddy!! lol

        • Joan Ferrantesimplyme

Nor do I have knowledge of his damn undershorts!!! Too damn funny! Thanks for the belly laugh!!!

  • Juan Carcao

Moron Michel Brune needs to go live in that environment a couple of days and see what happens to him….. perhaps he will then see the light!

  • JAYRON1

And when it comes to coal,we learn that the demand for coal is huge and in great demand world wide, but according to Obama, the DNC,and the EPA,the U.S.must withdrawn from that market as well. The DNC leftist has become clownish to the point of being very dangerous to America and it’s economy, and shows us that the DNC is unfit to lead us into the future.

  • NovelDog

Are Liberals born without a brain, or does it get infected by Satan, and then starts shrinking until it disappears? Do we need alternative energy fuels? Yes, but we also need fossil fuel. We need to keep developing all forms of energy trying to make each one cleaner, and safer, as well as cheaper, until we come up with the perfect combination. In short, both sides of the issue should join each other and strive to improve all forms of energy so we can protect our environment, our wildlife, and ourselves while achieving our energy needs!

  • Gary Oplt

Liberals give ignorance a bad name!!!

  • sox83cubs84

    Liberal tree-huggers are mentally retarded.

  • cal3301

The Sierra Club and others in the liberal left keep pushing renewables. What they fail to tell you is that solar power produces 300x’s more waste than nuclear does and wind turbines not only pollute the scenery, they kill thousands of eagles and migratory birds each year. Obama even wrote an Executive order increasing the killing of eagles to over 2,400 a year.
We are a carbon based planet and I’ll take coal, gas, and oil over all the others that are insufficient in the production of energy!

The Hill and others who buy the left wing crapola know not what they say. I met this woman who was attacked and she said having the lights on at night made her feel safe. Most men do not worry about being attacked.

sorry but the cheapest and safest energy is nuclear.but no one wants it in their backyard.sure there is a disposal problem but new science has found a way to recycle spent uranium.i spent years aboard nuke subs and can testify that is also the safest.remember Chernobyl and the Japanese reactors that failed?it’s because their containment walls were poorly built and were over 50 years old.when they collapsed primary coolant was released which is very radioactive.when we returned or went to any port (fast attack type subs) we used a Cadillac detector to scan the deck looking for any radioactive substance that may exist topside.this was to ensure it would not reach the port.remember three mile island?there was no primary coolant released only secondary which is non radioactive.i agree with all types of alternative energy sources but then it comes down to cost as always.

  • Concerned

After the last 15 years of government funding, grants, loans, bankruptcies, attack on fossil fuels, and all-out lies, The solar and Wind energy producing projects account for less than 2 % of the current WW energy output! Hydroelectric power is much higher as is nuclear. However, fossil fuels (oil, coal, and gas) currently account for 86% of the WW energy output! Energy demand is growing faster on a yearly basis than the total 15 year installed base of wind plus solar and this increased is being provide by gas first and coal second.
