North Carolina Republican Office Hit with Firebomb Following Threats

A North Carolina GOP office was attacked over the weekend following threatening words spray painted on the side of a nearby building. The office, in Hillsborough, was firebombed with what investigators stated was an explosive device that was thrown through the window.

There have been no arrests in the incident as of yet, and there were no injuries.

“Nazi Republicans, leave town or else” was painted on a building near the office prior to the incident. Republican nominee, Donald Trump, used the incident in his favor, tweeting “animals representing Hillary Clinton and Dems in North Carolina just firebombed our office in Orange County because we are winning.”

Clinton commented on the attacks via Twitter, stating, “The attack on the Orange County HQ @NCGOP office is horrific and unacceptable. Very grateful that everyone is safe.”

North Carolina is shaping up to be one of the most contested states in this year’s election.

The town painted over the hateful spray painted message on Sunday. The attacks have been seen as a threat against democracy and a person’s right to vote. Additional security will be placed at Republican Party offices due to the attacks, according to reports.

Democrats have raised $13,000 to help rebuild the firebombed office.
