Trump to Clinton: “She’s a Liar, and Everyone Knows It”

Donald Trump, U.S. Republican presidential candidate, called Hillary Clinton a “liar” on Sunday. Clinton claimed that Trump’s proposed ban of foreign Muslims has aided in ISIS’s propaganda efforts.

Trump told “Meet the Press” that Clinton had no evidence to back up her claim that the Republican front runner is becoming ISIS’s top recruiter. Trump stated, “She’s a liar, and everybody knows that.” He went on to say that Clinton just made the claim up “in thin air.”

Trump made the controversial remark of banning Muslims from entering the U.S. after the attacks in San Bernardino, CA on December 2, which killed 14 people. Speaking at Saturday night’s debate, Clinton claimed that ISIS was using Trump’s remarks to enlist new members.

But counter terrorism experts who keep track of Islamist activity online have found no evidence that Clinton’s remarks are true, finding no mention of Trump on any official group accounts.

John Podesta, chairman of the Clinton campaign, stated that Trump is helping the jihadist group – not hurting it.

Despite counterterrorism experts being skeptical of this claim, Trump’s comments do make it more difficult for the U.S. to build a better relationship with Muslim populations around the globe. Experts warn that even without evidence, his remarks are only making things worse.
