Former Presidential Candidate Predicts Republicans Will Lose The 2016 Election

On Thursday, the former US Republican presidential candidate, Lindsey Graham, said she believes the Republican Party will lose the 2016 race for the White House.

During an interview with MSNBC, Graham stated, “Here is my concern, we can lose in 2016 and we probably will.”

Her reasoning behind this statement was the leading Republican candidate, Donald Trump, would be easily defeated in a contest with the leading Democratic candidate, Hillary Clinton. She also highlighted concerns that Trump is unreliable as a conservative Republican.

Graham made her thoughts clear that Ted Cruz would be a much more suitable and competitive candidate if he were to secure the Republican nomination. She said “I don’t know if he [Cruz] can beat her [Clinton] or not, but at least we’ve got a fighting chance.”

Trump has come under a lot of criticism throughout his campaign due to his numerous controversial statements on topics such as Muslims, women and immigrants. This does not reverse his popularity with Republicans voters across the nation.
