Trump Says He’ll Debate Sanders for $10 Million

A Trump vs Sanders debate may be more of a possibility than originally thought. On Thursday, Trump said he would accept Bernie’s challenge, but there would be a price to pay: $10 million.

Sanders first floated the idea of debating Trump Wednesday on Jimmy Kimmel. The Vermont senator asked the presumptive GOP nominee to debate him before the California primary on June 7.

Trump agreed, but only if the proceeds went to charity.

Sanders has been goading Trump to make a commitment ever since, with his campaign manager saying Trump better not “chicken out” of the debate.

When speaking with reporters in North Dakota on Thursday, Trump said the debate is on – most likely.

“What we’ll do is raise maybe for, maybe women’s health issues or something, if we can raise $10 million or $15 million for charity, which would be a very appropriate amount,” Trump said.

While Trump seemed willing to accept the invitation, he did have a few qualms about the debate.

“I’d love to debate Bernie,” Trump said. “The problem is he’s going to lose,” he added. Trump said the Democratic system is “rigged” and that if he didn’t win by such large majorities, he wouldn’t be the presumptive nominee for the Republican Party.

Trump says the biggest problem is that Sanders won’t win, but said he would debate him regardless if the money is donated to charity.
