The hacker who claimed responsibility for the DNC’s (Democratic National Committee) data breach released a leaked document that apparently shows the DNC colluding with Hillary Clinton from the very start of the presidential race.
The document is dated May 26, 2015 – one month after Bernie Sanders announced his presidential bid – and highlights the DNC’s goals and strategies to “provide a contrast between the GOP field and HRC.” The HRC stands for Hillary Rodham Clinton.
The file, which was leaked by Guccifer 2.0, also outlines ways the party planned to attack the GOP and “use specific hits to muddy the waters around ethics, transparency and campaign finance attacks on HRC.”
While the DNC officially remained neutral throughout the primary process, Sanders supporters say the document proves what they’ve been saying all along: the system is rigged in Clinton’s favor.
The DNC confirmed the data breach earlier in the week, but blamed hackers from the Russian government. An official from the DNC stands by the assessment, despite the fact that Guccifer claims it was a lone hacker.
Vermont senator Bernie Sanders remains in the presidential race, but has shifted his focus to changing the Democratic platform. Among his many demands to the DNC and Clinton is to remove Debbie Wesserman Schultz, DNC leader, and to eliminate super delegates from the system.
