Bernie Sanders Plans ‘Our Revolution’ Organization Launch Next Week

Senator Bernie Sanders will speak to his supporters next Wednesday, August 24, to announce the launch of a new organization called “Our Revolution.” The group’s intention is to harness the energy of Sanders’s supporters and aid in the progressive political movement across the country.

The speaker will address his supporters from Washington D.C.’s Ripley Manor. The launch of Our Revolution will air live at over 2,000 organizing meetings across the country.

“During our campaign, we assembled a movement of millions of people ready to fight for the country we know we can become, said Sanders in an email to his supporters.

“At this meeting, I and others will lay out some of the next steps we can take as a movement,” Sanders added. Our Revolution’s goal is to empower progressive candidates in November.

After losing the Democratic primary, Bernie Sanders has endorsed Hillary Clinton for president, and he has continued supporting a number of liberal candidates across the nation.

Jill Stein, Green Party nominee, is trying to win over Sanders supporters and bring them to her campaign.

Sanders started fundraising for the new organization earlier in the month. The Vermont senator lists three goals for the organization, including bringing young people and working people into the political system, and empowering progressive candidates from the local to federal levels.
