The New York Daily News reports that Donald Trump sold the entire 45th floor of his Trump World Tower to Saudi Arabia in a $4.5 million deal in 2001. The news comes at a time when Trump has blasted Hillary Clinton for accepting money from Saudi Arabia through her Clinton Foundation.
The billionaire has called for Clinton to return the money from the government. The billionaire posted on Facebook in June: “Crooked Hillary says we must call on Saudi Arabia and other countries to stop funding hate. I am calling on her to immediately return the $25 million plus she got from them for the Clinton Foundation!”
The Saudi Mission took control of the apartments, a total of five, in 2008, according to records. All of the tenants in the building are required to pay for building amenities yearly. Charges paid by Saudi Arabia came out to $85,585 per year.
Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump’s campaign have both declined to comment on the matter.
Trump has blasted Saudi Arabia and blamed them for the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center in the past.
In January, a Saudi Prince reminded Trump that he bailed him out of debt twice via a Twitter post. The prince purchased a yacht and Trump Plaza Hotel for $325 million.
