Vice President Joe Biden Has Harsh Words for Trump Following PTSD Comments

Vice President Joe Biden discussed Donald Trump’s comments on Monday, in which he said military members that suffer from PTSD “can’t handle” what they’ve seen because they’re not strong. The comments caused a fury of backlash.

Biden stated that Trump is “an ignorant man.”

Trump discussed veterans during an event in Virginia where he met with a veterans group. The billionaire businessman stated, “When you talk about the mental health problems, when people come back from war and combat — and they see things that maybe a lot of the folks in this room have seen many times over and you’re strong and you can handle it, but a lot of people can’t handle it,”

Biden discussed the comments on CNN’s New Day.

The vice president stated, “This is an ignorant man. This guy says things he has no idea about.” Biden recalled the number of times he has met with veterans that go to bed with nightmares every night.

Trump’s campaign has stated that his words were used out of context. A statement was released by the campaign on the matter. Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn came to Trump’s defense in the statement, saying that the media is using his words as propaganda. He stated that Trump has always respected military men and women.

The billionaire’s comments come at a time when he is slipping in the polls and his charity foundation has been told to stop operating in New York.
