After a series of terrorist attacks in Berlin, Turkey, and Switzerland, President-elect Donald Trump told reporters that the current state of affairs was unacceptable.
“You’ve known my plans all along and I’ve been proven to be right, 100-percent correct,” he said on Wednesday. “What’s happening is disgraceful.”
Trump said it was about more than one ambassador or one group of Christmas shoppers.
“That’s an attack on humanity, is what it is,” he said. “It’s an attack on humanity and it’s got to be stopped.”
Trump told reporters that he had spoken with President Obama on Monday but not since the attacks. His transition team confirmed that Trump received his daily intelligence briefing on Wednesday morning, pulling him up to speed on the latest developments.
In two written statements, Trump expounded on the attacks. Of the one that claimed the life of a Russian ambassador, he said it was “a violation of all rules of civilized order and must be universally condemned.”
On the truck attack in Berlin, Trump said, “Innocent civilians were murdered in the streets as they prepared to celebrate the Christmas holiday. ISIS and other Islamist terrorists continually slaughter Christians in their communities and places of worship as part of their global jihad. These terrorists and their regional and worldwide networks must be eradicated from the face of the earth, a mission we will carry out with all freedom-loving partners.”
Those partners will probably not include American Democrats, who are already using Trump’s comments as a way of going back to the so-called “Muslim ban.” While Trump is ready to get down to business and start killing terrorists, the left is only interested in finding ways to keep him from taking office. Never mind ISIS, they want to continually re-litigate the election until they find some magic switch that will make Hillary Clinton the next president.
To hell with them all. On January 20, we’ll finally get to see what the war against ISIS looks like with Republicans in command. No more pussyfooting around. No more lectures about gun control, Islamophobia, or our duty to accept Muslim refugees. An all-out offensive using the tools and partnerships that Obama has ignored for too long. We’ll see how long their precious little caliphate lasts in the Trump Era. Our guess? Not very long.
