Expert: “Political Correctness” Gives Jihadists Their Power

According to Dr. James Mitchell, one of the terror experts who interrogated 9/11 architect Khalid Sheikh Mohammad, Islamic attacks like the one in Berlin Monday are made possible by liberals who are too weak-willing to take the necessary steps to protect their citizens. In an interview on Fox News’s “Kelly File,” Mitchell said things would only turn around for the West when political leaders stopped treating Islam with kid gloves.

“[It] was political correctness and their unwillingness to get this person out of their country who had no business being there because he didn’t have the right paperwork to prove who he was,” Mitchell said of suspected Berlin jihadist Anis Amri.

Mitchell said that his interviews with Mohammad gave him insight into the strategic goals behind terrorist organizations like Al Qaeda and ISIS. Even in the wake of a devastating, world-changing attack like the one he orchestrated, Mohammad told Mitchell that he had come to see the value of small-scale “lone wolf” attacks. He said he had been particularly impressed by the 2002 D.C. sniper shootings.

“For him, what surprised him was how much paralysis it caused given how few deaths were involved, few from his perspective,” Mitchell said. “And what he said to me was our civil liberties and our openness and our willingness to be responsive to other peoples’ cultures were weaknesses and flaws that his God, Allah, had put into the American culture so that we could be defeated.”

Now, to extract value from the rantings of an Islamic terrorist, you have to separate the kernel of truth from the insanity. Obviously, Allah did not give Americans civil liberties or cultural tolerance. Nor can those traits be seen as flaws. Now, sometimes those terms are used to describe things that are not what they appear to be, but in their purest forms, there’s nothing wrong with them.

That said, there’s a difference between compassion and stupidity. It would be compassionate if you were to offer a homeless man a hot meal and a couple of bucks. It would be stupid if you approached a drug-addled psycho in the middle of the night and offered him an overnight stay in your bedroom. You can exercise kindness and offer help without being suicidal about it.

This is the bright center line in the highway that people like Barack Obama and Angela Merkel can’t seem to see. Or they know they’re veering into oncoming traffic and they just don’t care. Either way, it has the same effect.

Mitchell said he was optimistic about the Trump administration.

“I hope there’s gonna be change, because here’s the way political correctness works for a guy like Khalid Sheikh Mohammed,” he said. “It allows them to operate in our midst without being challenged.”
