Pelosi: Donald Trump is Weak on Border Security

After floundering for months, Democrats have apparently decided to embrace their own absurdity and let the chips fall wherever they may as they continue their pathetic war on Donald Trump.

In an interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press” this weekend, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said that by pushing for a wall across the Mexican border, President Trump was showing that he was weak on border security!

“The Democrats do not support the wall,” Pelosi told host Chuck Todd. “The president, in talking about this wall, is expressing a sign of weakness. He’s saying, I can’t control our borders. I have to build a wall. We certainly have a responsibility to control our borders. Building a wall is not an answer, not here or anyplace.”

You almost have to assume that Pelosi is just saying whatever nonsense comes to her mind at this point, because there’s no way this was a pre-arranged, well reasoned position. The Democrats – and not a few Republicans – have a solid(ish) position when it comes to Trump’s border wall. They can argue against it from a financial perspective, from a humanitarian perspective, and so on. Hell, some of them have even tried to use an environmental argument. You may disagree with these positions, but there is at least SOMEONE out there who would concur.

This argument, though…not so much. No one is going to buy the premise that Trump wants a wall because he’s weak on border security. It just doesn’t line up with any known rational logic, and it doesn’t line up with the facts. Border crossings have plummeted under his administration, and he’s barely gotten started.

You just can’t make this stuff up. Even with the entire mainstream media behind them, Democrats can still find a way to muddle their message to the point where it no longer makes a lick of sense. Or maybe that’s just what naturally happens when you force them to actually explain their positions.

“The wall is, in my view, immoral, expensive, unwise and when the president says, well, I promised a wall during my campaigns, I don’t think he said he was going to pass billions of dollars of cost of the wall onto the taxpayer,” Pelosi went on to say.

Fair enough, but at least have the guts to stand by your true position. Don’t try to pretend that you’re actually FOR border security when you so clearly aren’t.
