Black Activists Make More Crazy Demands of UC Santa Cruz

As has been covered by Fox News’s Tucker Carlson and others, a group of black activist students at the University of California Santa Cruz recently took control of one of the college’s buildings, refusing to disperse until the school’s administrators met their ludicrous demands. And, as has become the case more often than not when it comes to these outrageous student protests, the school eventually caved.

From The College Fix:

After three days of occupation by students of Kerr Hall, Chancellor George Blumenthal agreed to give all black and Caribbean-identified students a 4-year housing guarantee to live in the Rosa Parks African American Themed House; bring back the building’s lounge; paint its exterior the “Pan-Afrikan colors” of red, green and black; and force all new incoming students to go through a mandatory diversity competency training.

“The student demonstrators raised a number of issues with campus leaders, issues we fundamentally agree upon,” Blumenthal stated in a May 4 memo to the campus community announcing the concessions. “Students from historically underrepresented communities deal with real challenges on campus and in the community. These difficulties include things that many people take for granted, such as finding housing or even just a sense of community.”

Uh-huh. Well, I’ve seen what happened to deans at other universities when they try to fight this kind of racial nonsense, and I happen to need this job, so we’re just going to give them whatever they want.

That’s one way of dealing with a problem, certainly, but the activists – who call themselves the African/Black Student Alliance – quickly showed Blumenthal why it’s not a good idea. Because the moment the university gave in to their demands, they came up with more. Now the group is “asking” UC Santa Cruz for three more gimmes, and they have informed the school’s administrators that they have until the fall to provide a detailed outline of how they will meet those demands…or else.

The new demands: That the school provide a “low income housing cooperative for historically disadvantaged students,” that the school put $100,000 into the “SOMeCA” student organization support department, and that the school begin providing a Black Studies Minor or Major.

The second demand is the one that really gets us: Please give us $100,000 so we can put on demonstrations like the one we put on last week.

Word to the wise: If you are thinking about sending your kid to UC Santa Cruz, you might want to think again. They’ve clearly lost the plot.
