After Terror Attack, GMA Worried Sick About Muslims

We can thank the good Lord that we no longer have a president whose first instincts after an Islamic terror attack are to defend Muslims, but we still have plenty of idiots with that mindset populating the mainstream media. Even as reporters were still struggling to get the story straight about Monday night’s terror attack in Manchester, England, several pundits on ABC, NBC, and the other networks were worried about the backlash that might be endured by Muslims in America and abroad.

On ABC’s Good Morning America, host George Stephanopoulos held court with reporter Martha Raddatz and terrorism expert Matthew Olsen. Olsen, who was presumably there to give viewers a knowledgeable opinion about the attack, encountered resistance when he…did just that. Olsen said the attack, which happened minutes after an Ariana Grande concert concluded, bore the hallmarks of an ISIS suicide bombing.

To which Idiotopoulos responded, “But you don’t have a claim of responsibility.” He then fretted to Raddatz that an attack like this could have a secondary effect on the Muslim community.

“Martha, as you said, the people in Manchester are determined to kind of go back to daily life,” Stephanopoulos said. “This is also likely to inflame anti-Islamic sentiment across Britain, across Europe.”

“It sure could George,” said Raddatz, still likely weeping over Hillary Clinton’s loss in November. “Manchester itself is a very multicultural city. There’s a large Muslim population with many there for generations. So headscarf attracts little attention there. And notably, Manchester did not vote in favor of Brexit. But an attack like this, as you said, is much bigger than Manchester itself and will likely create backlash, depending on course, of the details of this attack.”

The details of the attack, of course, came later in the day. Surprise, surprise: It was endorsed and claimed by ISIS and carried out by a Libyan refugee. Another big win for “very multicultural” cities, wouldn’t you agree?
