Bill Nye Can’t Wait for Old Conservatives to Die Off

Liberals like to not only view themselves as the guardians of science and rationality, but also as the moral center of the United States. Without them, they reckon, the U.S. would plunder back into the days of slavery and women’s oppression or even perhaps mass gay killings. One could never know, because the evil, awful RIGHT WING is capable of any manner of terrible atrocities. Thankfully, liberals and their endless progressivism have leashed the country’s conservatives on a short chain, just barely keeping America civilized for the millions of minorities who would otherwise be enslaved or killed by ISIS’s close Western counterpart, the Republican Party.

But when you really examine how these people talk, it’s hard to imagine how they think of themselves as caring, thoughtful individuals. It’s not just that they pursue goals of ever-increasing ridiculousness, it’s that they seem to regard ANY means as worth it for the ends. Including idly wishing for (or, as we’ve seen, actively bringing about) the DEATHS of their ideological opponents. And we’re not talking about Mumbatu Mohammad of the Black Liberation Kill Whitey Club, we’re talking about mainstream celebrities like Kathy Griffin, Rosie O’Donnell, and even our old pal, Bill Nye the Science Guy.

For adults of a certain age, we’re sure Nye holds a special place in their hearts, and, unlike liberals, we are willing to admit that as misguided and hostile as he appears to be in his older years, he may very well be a decent guy when you get to know him. Who can say? He consistently ranks near the top of the list when you read personal accounts of encounters with angry, bitter celebrities, but, you know, we’re not famous. It does probably wear on one’s nerves.

Still, for whatever else Nye is, he’s a climate change zealot of the highest magnitude, and he’s apparently rubbing his hands together in anticipation of the day that America’s old conservatives will just frigging DIE already so that we can have the Paris Agreement, wind farms, and cows that fart delicious smoothies instead of methane.

“Climate change deniers, by way of example, are older,” Nye told the Los Angeles Times. “It’s generational. We’re just going to have to wait for those people to ‘age out,’ as they say. ‘Age out’ is a euphemism for ‘die.’ But it’ll happen, I guarantee you – that’ll happen.”

And then what? Isn’t the whole POINT of rescuing the Earth from carbon emissions so that people can LIVE? Is Nye saying that people have to die so that others may live? Well, certainly, there’s logic to that. In fact, if you kill off enough people, then we won’t have to worry about climate change anymore. But how is that a moral crusade worth getting behind…?

Nye’s comment probably wouldn’t be worth noticing if it weren’t for that fact that this sentiment is so common among young liberals, who seem positively giddy about the prospect of Ye Olde Conservatives buying the farm so they can finally have the utopian America of their dreams.

And then they wonder why so many of those older Americans support someone who actually speaks to them, rather than simply waiting for them to “age out.”
