The Democrats’ witch hunt is coming apart in the wake of stunning revelations that prove just how biased this Trump/Russia investigation was from the get-go. While it has been obvious to careful observers for some time how unbelievably unfair, undemocratic, and unconstitutional Robert Mueller’s crusade against the president has been, the rest of the country is beginning to wake up to what is turning into a major crisis of confidence in our nation’s top law enforcement agencies.
More importantly, perhaps, the Department of Justice is starting to realize that they might have a significant problem on their hands.
According to Fox News, the DOJ is in the process of poring through “over 10,000 texts” exchanged between FBI agent Peter Strzok and his mistress, fellow FBI employee Lisa Page. They are conducting this examination only now, after news broke wide of the reason for Strzok’s removal from Mueller’s team this summer: Text messages with Page that were decidedly anti-Trump in nature.
Since Strzok was one of the top investigators on the case – was, in fact, the agent who initially signed the paperwork that officially started the FBI investigation into allegations of collusion – many Republicans are beginning to wonder if his political bias is responsible for the mess we’re currently in.
Not only that, but at least one member of the House Intelligence Committee isn’t buying the idea that a handful of biased text messages were the sole reason that Strzok was removed from Mueller’s team. In a hearing on Friday with FBI Director Christopher Wray, Rep. Jim Jordan indicated the need for a second special counsel who would determine exactly how and why a FISA warrant was issued authorizing the surveillance of the Trump campaign.
“There’s got to be something more here. It can’t just be text messages that show a pro-Clinton anti-Trump bias,” Jordan said in the hearing. “My hunch is it has something to do with the dossier. Did Peter Strzok help produce and present the application to the FISA court to secure a warrant to spy on Americans associated with the Trump campaign?”
Wray declined to answer.
Damningly, Strzok’s fingerprints are not only to be found all over the Trump/Russia collusion case, but all over the Hillary Clinton email investigation as well. This individual has been found to be deeply biased in his political beliefs, and he just happens to have played a major role in two of the most significant political investigations in modern history. Two investigations that appear to have run off the rails in favor of the liberal establishment. Is that merely a coincidence? Or are we looking at one of the most flagrant miscarriages of justice to ever befall our great country?
We will see.
