Lawmakers in both the House and the Senate are currently investigating FBI Agent Peter Strzok and his girlfriend, FBI lawyer Lisa Page, for new texts that have come to light proving that they weren’t just biased against Donald Trump – they may have also been leaking information about the Russian collusion investigation to the news media.
From The Hill:
In one string of text messages just five days before Election Day 2016, Page, the lawyer, alerted Strzok, the counterintelligence agent, to a story in The Washington Post about a timeline in the controversial Hillary Clinton email investigation.
Page mentions a conversation she had just had with FBI chief of staff James Rybicki and openly expressed concern the information about the FBI’s timeline was too specific for comfort in the article.
“Sorry, Rybicki called. Time line article in the post (sic) is super specific and not good. Doesn’t make sense because I didn’t have specific information to give.”
A few days earlier Strzok texted Page about another new article, suggesting it was anti-FBI. “Yep, the whole tone is anti-Bu. Just a tiny bit from us,” he wrote.
Page texted she had seen the article. “Makes me feel WAY less bad about throwing him under the bus to the forthcoming CF article,” she texted. Congressional investigators are still trying to determine what the “CF article” reference means and who the agents thought they were trying to throw “under the bus.”
Strzok and his girlfriend have already come under scrutiny for earlier text messages that revealed their hardcore support for Hillary Clinton and their hatred for Trump. This wouldn’t necessarily be a problem except for the fact that Strzok was a top agent in both the Trump/Russia investigation and the Hillary Clinton email investigation. Now, the fact that they were apparently using their free time to give Washington reporters special background scoops about the investigations makes their motives all the more suspicious. Furthermore, if lawmakers discover that they leaked classified material to the press, they could face federal charges. That is, if mishandling classified material is even a crime at this point.
There can no longer be any objective American left in the country who can deny the reality of these investigations. In both Hillary and Trump’s case, we’re looking at partisan investigators who were determined – by hook or by crook – to find the conclusion they’d already decided in their heads. From James Comey to Andrew McCabe to Loretta Lynch to Peter Strzok, this was nothing less (and remains to this day) a Democrat conspiracy to protect some and persecute others. It’s time to bring an end to Robert Mueller’s phony witch hunt and restore some semblance of legitimacy to the FBI and the Justice Department.
Before it’s too late.
