Parkland Survivor (Accidentally?) Tells the Truth About Gun Agenda

The March for Life this weekend was short on truth and long on hyperbole and idiocy, but at least one speaker said something that was absolutely, 100% honest. And if you take what Parkland teen Delaney Tarr said at the rally in Washington at face value, it tells you everything you need to know about why it’s important to resist the emotional appeals of these survivors.

“There are so very many things, so many steps to take,” she said on Saturday. “Like right now, sign our petition. It takes two seconds and it matters. We will take the big and we will take the small, but we will keep fighting. When they give us that inch, that bump stock ban, we will take a mile. We are not here for bread crumbs. We are here for real change. We are here to lead.”

When they give us an inch…we will take a mile. That’s it, right there – the most honest, truthful thing we’ve heard from the gun control left in a long time. Excepting those pundits brave enough to admit that what they really want is the total abolition of the Second Amendment and the confiscation of millions of guns, Tarr immediately became our “favorite” gun control advocate. Why? Because once the public really understands where all of this is actually going, this movement dies on the vine.

Polls have shown that the American people are relatively sympathetic to a few of the left’s meager gun control proposals – the bump stock ban being one of them. Universal background checks being another. There is even widespread support for some kind of magazine sale restriction. So why are Republicans reluctant to dive right into this kind of legislation? The left has us believe it’s because these politicians are merely puppets of the NRA. That’s not it, though. It’s that Republicans (and more to the point, the conservative base) knows that these measures are just stepping stones toward the real aims of the left.

Give us an inch, we’ll take a mile.

That’s the whole ballgame. That’s why it is necessary to fight these activists at every single turn. That’s why we have to appear like the “bad guys” and speak against the David Hoggs and the Emma Gonzalez’s. It’s not that we don’t sympathize with what they’ve been through; it’s that we know they are being used as tools for an agenda that these teens can barely grasp themselves. A dangerous agenda that will leave Americans helpless in the face of growing crime, vulnerable to the worst evils terrorism has to offer, and powerless against the tyrannical government that our Founders warned us against.
