Jerry Jones: The Dallas Cowboys WILL Stand for the National Anthem

What a complete mess the NFL has gotten themselves into. Here we are, the middle of the summer, with the next football season just around the corner, and the idiots in charge of this once-proud league STILL don’t have a clue about how to do what’s best for the game.

They got within shouting distance of a solution in May, when they announced a policy that would require players to either stand for the national anthem or stay in the locker room while it played. But even that mealy-mouthed, half-assed compromise was deemed a shocking offense by the leftist sportswriting community. Fine teams whose players can’t sit in the showers until the anthem is over? Fine teams whose players simply MUST disrespect the flag in front of an audience of millions? How dare they? Don’t they even know about white privilege!!!?

After meeting with the players’ union earlier this month, though, the NFL backed off even that weaselly compromise. Now they’re back to square one. “No new rules” have been established regarding players’ conduct during the anthem, which means these millionaire thugs will once again be permitted to hijack a respectful display of patriotism for their misguided, nonsensical message against police brutality. Maybe next to the American flag, the stadiums can display a screen that shows the real statistics – the ones black activists and other leftists can’t quite get through their thick heads. The ones that show that black men are not one bit likelier to be shot by police than white suspects.

Oh, we forgot, statistics are just white supremacy under another guise.

In any case, much of the NFL may be fine with watching America’s veterans turn off the game in disgust and watching their stands dwindle to the die-hards because people just can’t stand this crap anymore, but Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is not among their ranks. At a press conference on Wednesday, Jones confirmed that regardless of what the league as a whole decides, his players would not disrespect the flag, the anthem, or the country.

“Our policy is you stand during the anthem, toe on the line,” Jones said.

In regards to the new NFL policies, Jones said that any agreement “does not impact our position, my position, relative to the Cowboys.”

“Our position is real clear,” he said. “You should stand.”

The NFL ought to take a page from Jones’ book, grow a collective pair, and put this issue to bed once and for all.
