According to a bombshell new report, intelligence officials discovered a foreign intrusion on Hillary Clinton’s email server as early as 2015 and yet never made this information publicly available. In fact, the source that spoke to the Daily Caller insists that not only is the FBI well aware of the intrusion, they know exactly which country was responsible for getting inside Hillary’s email server.
From The Daily Caller:
A Chinese-owned company operating in the Washington, D.C., area hacked Hillary Clinton’s private server throughout her term as secretary of state and obtained nearly all her emails, two sources briefed on the matter told The Daily Caller News Foundation.
The Chinese firm obtained Clinton’s emails in real time as she sent and received communications and documents through her personal server, according to the sources, who said the hacking was conducted as part of an intelligence operation.
The Chinese wrote code that was embedded in the server, which was kept in Clinton’s residence in upstate New York. The code generated an instant “courtesy copy” for nearly all of her emails and forwarded them to the Chinese company, according to the sources.
Despite no longer running for office of any kind, Hillary Clinton apparently keeps her campaign spokespeople on the payroll for some reason. And Nick Merrill, said spokesman, was quick to run to her defense when the Daily Caller came asking about this stunning development.
“This is the most combed over subject in modern American political history,” Merrill said. “The FBI spent thousands of hours investigating, and found no evidence of intrusion. That’s a fact. But in an age where facts are alternative and truth isn’t truth, it’s no surprise that an outlet like the Daily Caller would try to distract us from very real and very immediate threats to our democracy brought by the man occupying the White House.”
Ooh, sick burn, Nick.
But it doesn’t change the fact that, intrusion or no intrusion, Clinton left classified state secrets sitting out in the open on an unprotected, unsecured, private email server for years. Whether or not the Chinese (or the Russians, or the North Koreans) actually obtained those emails is nearly immaterial. Interesting and relevant, certainly. But much like you will still go to prison for “attempted” murder, Clinton should have still been prosecuted for the kind of recklessness that opened these secrets up to hostile foreign entities.
Nick’s right, of course, this is one of the most “combed over” subjects in recent political memory. And that’s why it’s terribly interesting that so much of it lies in shadow to this day. Either Clinton is THAT good at covering her tracks or she had the benefit of the DOJ/FBI that really, really didn’t want to find anything. And still don’t, as far as we can tell.
