Actress: Avenatti Attacked Me, Dragged Me Around Apartment Floor

The details are now coming out about a domestic violence incident involving Michael Avenatti and his girlfriend, Estonian actress Mareli Miniutti.

With Miniutti having issued a sworn declaration against the famous attorney, the incident appears to be far more harrowing and violent than we could have imagined from the first news of his arrest. If Avenatti’s career as a political operative was endangered by his arrest in Los Angeles last week, Miniutti’s story in all its chilling details should put the nail in his coffin. We can’t imagine any news network – not even CNN – putting this jerk on the air after this.

Then again, we’re probably just exposing our own naivete.

According to The Blast, which has been the source of much of the original reporting on this story, Miniutti claims that Avenatti got into an argument with her over money on November 13. At one point Avenatti grew so enraged that he called her an “ungrateful f**king bitch” and began hitting her in the face with pillows from the bed. The lawyer then told his girlfriend: “Do not disrespect me,” and barred her from their shared apartment for the night. He then grabbed her by the arm and tried to yank her out of the bed.

When Miniutti tried to get to her cell phone to text a friend, Avenatti grabbed it and held it out of her reach. She says that he then grabbed her again, pulled her out of the bed, and dragged her across the apartment and out into the front hallway. Miniutti provided the court with evidence that she was injured during this part of the melee.

“He dragged me on the floor of the apartment towards and out of the door into the public hallway,” she told the court. “I was wearing only my underwear and a T-shirt at the time, and suffered scratches to the bare skin on my side and leg.”

The lawyer continues to profess his innocence, claiming that some kind of as-yet-unseen building surveillance will prove that he did not abuse his girlfriend.

But Miniutti told the court in her written declaration that this was not the first time Avenatti had been physically and verbally aggressive with her. She said that there was another incident similar to this one in which the attorney pushed her out of an apartment and threw shoes at her after a round of heavy drinking.

“He has a history of being very verbally abusive and financially controlling towards me,” she told the court. “I continue to be afraid of him and do not want him to contact me.”

Man.
