Trump on Democrat Investigations: “I Will Hit Them So Hard…”

In an interview with The New York Post this week, President Trump said he was not at all concerned with House Democrats taking over the various oversight committees in January. While Adam Schiff and Friends have vowed to spend much of their legislative power on investigating Trump and his campaign, the president says they might want to rethink that strategy.

“If they go down the presidential harassment track, if they want go and harass the president and the administration, I think that would be the best thing that would happen to me,” Trump said. “I’m a counter-puncher and I will hit them so hard they’d never been hit like that.”

Trump said, if not in so many words, that he’d kept quite a bit of leverage on his side for just such an occasion. Remember all of those documents that Republicans wanted the White House to declassify? The ones that will show the public what an outright scam the whole FBI spygate saga really was? The ones that will prove that the entire Russia investigation is predicated on unethical warrants, illegal spying, and a whole oceanful of lies? Trump never did it.

But, he told the Post, he was still very much contemplating it.

“If they want to play tough, I will do it. They will see how devastating those pages are,” he said. “It’s much more powerful if I do it then, because if we had done it already, it would already be yesterday’s news.”

Wow. Just when we thought this guy couldn’t get any more brilliant, he reveals that he’s been playing these chumps all along. Schiff and the rest have just been caught in a trap of their own design. Move forward with these investigations, and Trump exposes ALL OF IT. And you can bet your bottom dollar, with the way Democrats have fought tooth-and-nail to keep these documents under wraps, that there are some devastating revelations hidden in those pages. Revelations that may prove, once and for all, that this really was an Obama Administration political witch hunt from the beginning. Revelations that could actually bring a quick and premature end to any discussion of Democrats possibly taking back the White House in 2020.

We have a feeling that Trump would like to save these de-classified documents for just the right political moment, but House Democrats may force his hand with their aggressive posturing. At this point, we no longer know whether we’d like them to put these investigations on the shelf where they belong…or play a game of chicken with the President of the United States.

Either way, Trump just sent the Dems a fierce warning. It will be interesting to see how they respond.
