New York Governor Calls Extreme Abortion Law an “Historic Victory”

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo was so excited this week to see his Democrat-infested legislature pass the extremist Reproductive Health Act that he ordered the World Trade Center to light up in pink to celebrate making it ever easier to kill the unborn. Indeed, Cuomo’s unqualified support of the bill, which will expand and solidify New Yorkers’ right to abort their babies, resulted in many New York landmarks being bathed in pink, including the Mario Cuomo Bridge, the Alfred E. Smith Building, and the Kosciuszko Bridge. Because, damn it, when we sign legislation that will end in the deaths of thousands of innocent lives, that calls for a night of celebration!

“The Reproductive Health Act is a historic victory for New Yorkers and for our progressive values,” Cuomo said. “In the face of a federal government intent on rolling back Roe v. Wade and women’s reproductive rights, I promised that we would enact this critical legislation within the first 30 days of the new session – and we got it done. I am directing that New York’s landmarks be lit in pink to celebrate this achievement and shine a bright light forward for the rest of the nation to follow.”

Cuomo said that while he was pleased to see the legislation passed, he was disheartened that New York would even have to take that extra step.

“It’s bittersweet,” said the man who does not believe in American greatness. “There is a bitterness because we shouldn’t be here in the first place. We should not have a federal government that is trying to roll back women’s rights. This administration defies American evolution.”

Of course, there are those New Yorkers who do not believe this legislation is a move in the right direction, much less some historic victory for women’s rights. A collection of New York’s Catholic bishops released a statement this week expressing their heartfelt dismay over the new law.

“The so-called ‘Reproductive Health Act’ will expand our state’s already radically permissive law,” the Catholic leaders wrote. “With an abortion rate that is already double the national average, New York law is moving in the wrong direction.

“We mourn the unborn infants who will lose their lives, and the many mothers and fathers who will suffer remorse and heartbreak as a result,” they continued. “We renew our pledge to offer the resources and services of our charitable agencies and health services to any woman experiencing an unplanned pregnancy, to support her in bearing her infant, raising her family or placing her child for adoption.”

This is all our nation’s faith-leaders and conservatives can do in the face of this sick liberal onslaught. This, and hope that Trump’s presidency – and the Supreme Court he helped shape – can bring about the spiritual and moral cleansing this country desperately needs.
