The mainstream media is going to do everything it can to prevent it from happening, but we have a feeling that 2019 will be the year the dam finally breaks for the ocean of bigotry, racism, and anti-Semitism the Democratic Party/Larger Left has been holding back for years. Close observers have seen all of this low-expectation, snide hate bubbling just beneath the surface for as long as anyone can remember, but the party – with a lot of help from their buddies in the press – has done a good job avoiding a full-fledged scandal. Those days may be coming to an end.
The first cracks in the dam began to appear early this year when people began leaving the Women’s March in droves thanks to new revelations about just how closely tied to anti-Semitic interests the leadership was. This should not have come as any surprise, given the fact that Linda Sarsour – avowed anti-Semite and proud Islamist – was a founder, but it took associations with Louis Farrakhan to finally wake people up. See, when it’s a left-wing organization, a few “dog whistle” tweets are never enough. You have to basically catch them in the act.
Then there is the ongoing problem of Rep. Ilhan Omar. She has made not one, not two, but three problematic comments that can easily be read as anti-Semitic. And yes, we feel good about using that word – problematic – which the left loves so very much. We feel even better about it because, instead of coming together with Republicans to condemn Omar on the floor of the House, Democrats cowardly backed away, passing instead a bland resolution against “hate” that made no mention of Omar’s slurs against Jewish-Americans.
And now we have a top Bernie Sanders aide, who had to apologize this week while trying to defend Omar.
“This is a serious question,” wrote Belen Sisa on Facebook. “Do you not think that the American government and American Jewish community has a dual allegiance to the state of Israel? I’m asking not to rule out the history of this issue, but in the context in which this was said by Ilhan.”
Hoo boy.
The left has been more and more open about their hatred of Israel in recent years. So far, they have successfully navigated the rough waters requiring them to be critical only of Netanyahu’s policies and not Israel as a Jewish state. But that façade is crumbling quickly, as it always inevitably would as Democrats got in bed with Islamic special interests.
The anti-Semitism is now being exposed. The tolerance for racism, in the form of Virginia’s…well, entire Democratic Party leadership…is also being exposed. The dam is breaking.
