Judge: “Irreparable Harm” if Trump Were Allowed to Build His Wall

Another day, another Obama-appointed judge ruling against President Trump.

What actually is the point of holding court if the outcome is 100% predetermined? Who among us didn’t see this coming? Who didn’t know from the moment Trump declared a national emergency at the border that it was only a matter of time before some leftist activist in a black robe levied an injunction against it? Even Trump knew it, saying at the time that the left would find some Ninth Circuit judge to put a halt to his order. As long as they can manage to bring their cases before a kooky judge in the Pacific Northwest, liberals know they can own this administration all day long.

And so yeah, it happened again. This time the judge in question is Haywood Gilliam, who has donated more than $30,000 to Democrat politicians and causes in recent years.

“California U.S. District Court Judge Haywood Gilliam, who was appointed by former President Obama, issued the order, which does not fully halt construction but would limit additional border fencing to specific areas. It would also block the transfer of about $1 billion in Pentagon funds from various projects to pay for the construction of a wall,” reported The Hill.

Gilliam said that the president simply could not move forward with this unconstitutional move.

“Because the Court has found that Plaintiffs are likely to show that Defendants’ actions exceeded their statutory authority, and that irreparable harm will result from those actions, a preliminary injunction must issue pending a resolution of the merits of the case,” the judge said.

And never you mind the irreparable harm being done by hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens streaming across the border. No, it’s far more dangerous to let the president (checks notes) protect the homeland from a foreign invasion. Because that’s clearly not his job. It’s written right there in the Constitution: The president may issue orders from time to time, but these orders must be reviewed and approved of by a random California judge. So it shall be – at least when the president’s name is Donald Trump.

“Nationwide injunctions undermine the democratic process, depart from history and tradition, violate constitutional principles, and impede sound judicial administration, all at the cost of public confidence in our institutions and particularly in our courts as apolitical decision makers,” said Attorney General William Barr in a speech last week.

That says it all. District courts have no business writing policy for the entire United States. It’s well past time to recognize that it is they – not Trump – causing “irreparable harm” to our nation.
