WaPo’s Fake Conservative: “Burn Down the Republican Party!”

How anyone can read Jennifer Rubin’s Washington Post column without taking a shower afterwards is beyond us. Even the Post’s dedicated leftist opinion writers aren’t as smarmy as Rubin, who still writes under the pretense of being a “conservative.” Maybe she is, in some defunct, obscure meaning of the word, but you wouldn’t know it from reading her work or from watching her cable news appearances. Not even such NeverTrump luminaries as Bill Kristol and Jeff Flake seem this enamored by the allure of the leftist agenda these days. Rubin is up there in the Nicolle Wallace/Ana Navarro clouds, and folks, that’s just no place to be.

On MSNBC’s “AM Joy” program this weekend, Rubin said that American voters need to make sure that President Trump loses in 2020, and that’s only the beginning of what the country must do to move past the MAGA years.

“It’s not only that Trump has to lose, but that all his enablers have to lose,” Rubin said. “We have to collectively, in essence, burn down the Republican Party. We have to level them because if there are survivors – if there are people who weather this storm, they will do it again.”

Do…what again? Fight for the forgotten workers? Defend America’s sovereignty against an illegal immigrant invasion? Destroy Islamic terrorist groups? Help the economy reach heights unseen in decades? Gosh, we wouldn’t want any of THAT to survive, would we?

Rubin was clearly dreading the possibility that, far from being destroyed, Republicans would actually prevail at the polls next November.

“They will take that as confirmation that, hey, it just pays to ride the waves. ‘Look at me, I made it through,’” she said.

And then, fearing that there might be some dim-wit out in TV land still thinking that she retains some belief in conservatism, she put any doubts to rest. She said that Americans don’t want to see the federal government shrink.

“Up and down the ticket, federal, state and local offices, the country has to repudiate this,” she said. “This has become a dysfunctional anti-government party. That is not what the country wants and what it needs.”

Wow, Jennifer. Wow.
