Sen. Elizabeth Warren, already under fire for releasing a plan to pay for universal health care that is…less than honest about the impact of this economic boondoggle, confirmed Friday that her version of Medicare-for-All would indeed cover “all.”
“Medicare-for-All, as I put this together, covers everyone regardless of immigration status,” Warren told a sparse crowd of left-wing activists. “And that’s it. We get Medicare for All, and you don’t need the subsidies because Medicare for All is fully paid for, and that’s the starting place.”
Warren, whose pandering reached extraordinary levels last week when she declared “black trans women” the “backbone of our democracy,” was doing her usual thing: The event on Friday was sponsored by Mijente, which describes itself as a “pro-Latinx” activist group. It should probably be noted that the term “Latinx,” according to recent polling, is rejected by 98% of Hispanics. So we’re not talking about a mainstream group by any stretch of the imagination.
Then again, there’s nothing mainstream about Warren’s proposals, which would decimate the economy, turn our healthcare system into a dire, hopeless quagmire of federal red tape, and pay for it with lost jobs, sagging wages, and, yes, higher taxes on the middle class.
“I believe health care is a basic human right, and we fight for basic human rights,” she said. “But let me tell you another reason why I do it. It fits with my immigration plan, and that is—my immigration plan is to put the people who are here to stay on a path to citizenship.”
Awesome. So it’s not just an attempt to break America’s bank with socialized medicine; it also puts us that much closer to handing amnesty and citizenship to millions of illegal aliens. Why not just declare the border a thing of the past while you’re at it, Elizabeth?
Even liberals interested in shoving America to the left should be able to acknowledge that, if we open up all of these socialized programs to anyone in the world who wants to come here and take advantage of them, we will set up a system that cannot be sustained. America cannot become the welfare capital of the planet, and we certainly cannot afford to let the world’s “tired, huddled masses” become the majority of our nation’s population. But that’s exactly what will happen if we let this woman within a mile of the White House.
