BLM Co-Founder Paid Her Baby’s Father, Brother With Funds

Black Lives Matter is making bank.

Executives of the Black Lives Matter (BLM) Global Network Foundation Inc. “have nearly $42 million in assets, despite spending more than $37 million from July 2020 to June 2021,” Fox News reported on Tuesday.

The report comes from a 63-page compilation of tax documents acquired by the Associated Press, Fox reported.

Within the documents were some interesting numbers.

“Newly released tax filings revealed how Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors used charity funds to pay her friends and family large sums for various ‘consulting’ services, as well as charter a private flight,” the Daily Mail reported.

“The documents reveal that BLM paid a company owned by Damon Turner, the father of Cullors’ child, nearly $970,000 to help ‘produce live events’ and provide other ‘creative services.’ The co-founder’s brother, Paul Cullors, received more than $840,000 for providing security services to the foundation,” the UK paper wrote.

Others made big bank from the non-profit organization, too.

“A consulting firm run by Shalomyah Bowers, who is BLM’s board secretary and has previously served as deputy executive director, was paid more than $2.1 million for providing the organization with operational support, including staffing, fundraising and other key services,” the Mail reported.

Cullors resigned from the organization amid questions about its finances. She has denied claims she used money for personal matters and later “reimbursed BLM $73,523 for a charter flight for foundation-related travel, which the organization says she took in 2021 out of concern for COVID-19 and security threats,” the Mail reported. Nearly $6 million of cash collected by the organization was spent on a six-bedroom, six-bathroom house in Studio City that features a swimming pool, a soundstage and ample office space.

The tax filing also says the foundation invested $32 million in stocks from the $90 million it collected amid racial justice protests in 2020 that occurred in major cities across the U.S. following the death of George Floyd.

Brian Mittendorf, Ph.D., an accounting professor at Ohio State University, told Fox that the tax disclosure will likely set up the foundation for criticism because its “huge windfall” has a “mismatch” and “gaps.”

“It comes across as an early startup nonprofit, without substantial governance structure in place, that got a huge windfall,” Mittendorf told the outlet.

“People are going to be quick to assume that mismatch reflects intent. Whether there’s anything improper here, that is another question,” the professor said. “But whether they set themselves up for being criticized, I think that certainly is the case because they didn’t plug a bunch of those gaps.”

  1. I am absolutely no fan of the scum at BLM but this is common as clay for ALL these type organizations. Look at Jenny Beth Martin’s paycheck at the Tea Party Patriots (Where I gave money) . Remember the junket in Vegas by the Wounded Warier Executive board? It’s no surprise that BLM bosses live like kings. 10 bucks says if you dug into the NAACP you would find the same. Just check the salaries at the United Way and Red Cross too. The fact is very little of money donated actually goes where donors intended it to go. most is actually “legally” stolen.

They don’t knock down the kind of cash that politicians, especially in congress, do, but anywhere this kind of money is flowing in most of it will end up lining the pockets of people that don’t deserve it. Just a hard cruel am ab fact of life. Let me re-phrase that. It will end up lining the pockets of CROOKS that are not entitled to it.

We all fall for the conns from these expert bunko artists, just remember it when you send money to them.

  2. Is this really a surprise ? There have been Red Flags for several years that indicates that BLM isn’t on the straight and level in any way shape or form. It’s totally noticeable that there is no government group monitoring BLM’s use of donated cash. No one is held accountable and if there were such a group, BLM would raise the racist flag and indicate that there is intent to destroy BLM coming from a totally racist group, regardless of who is in that group. Certainly, none of the Senators or Representatives are willing to demand accountability from a group that shows it is profiting as a non profit organization. Therefore, the members of that group will keep getting richer than anyone else in this country.

    • Rumor on the street is Al Sharpton is in charge of the BLM fraud investigation. As his ability to not pay millions of dollars in back taxes makes him the prime “con” to the element of other rip off artist.

  3. It’s obvious that there is no one with authority enough to request accountability from BLM . It appears that this non profit is profiting and not in total compliance with the IRS.

  5. Honestly, I could care less what those who run BLM do with the money they scam from people and businesses. The sort of people who donate to BLM are not the sort of people I would most likely agree with, so the more money they get suckered out of by BLM, the less money they can spend on buying votes. All I care about is that when BLM members break laws by committing violence against others and destroying property, they need to be held responsible for their actions. To date, that has not happened in most cases.
