Jan 6 Committee Wraps Up Investigation?

Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.), a member of the House committee probing into Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack, announced on Thursday that the panel has completed all of its depositions. In total, as part of the investigation, there have been over 1,000 attacks.

While appearing on “CNN This Morning,” Lofgren told anchor Kaitlan Collins that the final interview for the panel took place on Wednesday when they sat down with Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos (R).

The committee has noted that they met with Vos because it was reported that former President Trump had tried to get him to change the 2020 presidential election results in Wisconsin this past July. This would have marked another attempt to overturn the elections that had at the time ended around a year and a half ago.

Vos had previously attempted to block the subpoena through a lawsuit, this is what ultimately led to the hearing being delayed until this week.

The committee is now focused on compiling its final report, which is set to be released before the end of the year. There has not yet been a definitive day for the release of the report.

As part of their findings, the panel will also release all interview transcripts after staff has redacted certain sections that include personal information.

Lofgren noted during the CNN interview that some witnesses possessed a lot more information than others. It is also clear that Trump did have a pressure campaign to try to overturn the results of the election.

The committee is set to meet on Friday to discuss whether criminal referrals will be pursued for those who did not adhere to the subpoenas.
