During an International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) fundraiser in Boston, Biden said that Republican candidate Herschel Walker did not deserve to have a seat in the Senate. Biden also proceeded to note all the differences between Walker and Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock (D). The two are facing off in Georgia’s runoff election on Tuesday.
Biden added that this election is “s choice between two men,” one of whom does not deserve to have a position in the U.S. Senate after everything he has said and done. On the other hand, the other man is a “truly decent, honorable guy.”
Biden also suggested that the early votes appear to be looking good for Democrats as more than 1 million ballots have already been cast.
Biden added that this race is particularly important. Despite this, Biden does not have plans to visit and campaign in Georgia prior to the runoff. This is because a 50-50 Senate, means that anyone has the option to steer the country in the direction they want.
Democrats had an incredibly good midterm election as they managed to retain the Senate and only lose the House by a few seats. However, if Warnock manages to win the runoff elections, then they would gain an extra seat in the Senate and have a 51-49 majority.
Biden noted that while the Democrats are diverse, they have always managed to support one another on important issues, which is why this extra vote is particularly important.
