Harmeet Dhillon, a former Trump campaign attorney announced while on Fox News’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight” that she intended to challenge Ronna McDaniel for the head of the Republican National Committee (RNC). Her reasoning was the recent GOP losses which clearly showed that the party leadership needed to be overhauled.
Dhillon added that Republicans are clearly tired of losing and that it is time for the leadership of the party to be reshaped so that they can start winning. She added that it is not sustainable for them to run elections in the same way that they did in the 90s and 2000s and that it was time for them to modernize their campaigns in order to be able to take on the Democrats. She added that this included taking them on in everything from the way they fundraise to the way they ensure that voters cast their votes.
She continued on to say that the overhaul would also need new messaging that is “fresh and positive” and that they should stop regurgitating the messages in the news cycles.
Dhillon is not the first person to challenge McDaniel, as MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell also announced his own challenge earlier last week.
At the same time, Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-N.Y.) has also hinted that he is also considering challenging McDaniel following his unsuccessful bid for becoming the New York governor.
