A day before the world found out that President Trump’s leadership had brought ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi to his eternal damnation, Arizona Democratic Party Chairman Felecia Rotellini told a crowd at the Phoenix Convention Center that Trump had put himself in league with the Islamic State with his actions in the Middle East. Speaking at a “We the Voters” panel discussion, Rotellini made the remarks, oh, about one hour before Trump and his top advisers sat down to watch U.S. special forces launch the raid on al-Baghdadi’s compound.
“One reason that people are going to vote is because Donald Trump is manipulating that White House and has aligned himself with ISIS and Saudi Arabia,” said Rotellini before being interrupted by Arizona Republican Party chairwoman Kelli Ward, who took exception to her counterpart’s wild accusations.
“I have to say, that is not true. That is not true,” Ward said.
The things leftist idiots make you say! As if anyone should actually have to point out the fact that Donald Trump – far more effective against Islamic terrorism than his predecessor – is not “aligned with ISIS.” But in today’s environment, where liberals believe that Trump is literally the second coming of Hitler, you can’t take anyone’s common sense for granted.
But Rotellini was not deterred: “The most important thing we can do today is vote for civility, vote for a president who is not going to align himself with the most dangerous foreign nations that are the reason why we had 9/11.”
Yeah. Nothing says civility like alleging that President Trump is aligning himself with the forces behind the worst terrorist attack in global history.
In a statement, Ward condemned Rotellini for her irresponsible lies.
“It is extremely disconcerting to hear the top Democrat in Arizona slander and malign an innocent person for being aligned with the world’s most evil terrorists, let alone the President of the United States,” Ward said. “While fear-mongering from the Left is expected up to a point, we have to draw the line somewhere if they’re going to refuse to police themselves. Baseless statements like those made by the chair of the Arizona Democrat party are wildly irresponsible and not rooted in reality.”
We’re pretty sure, at this point, that to even call yourself a Democrat requires being “not rooted in reality.”
