At the Women in the World Summit in New York on Thursday, Hillary Clinton was asked why the majority of white women voters chose Donald Trump over the would-be first female president of the United States, especially after they heard what the Republican had said on the infamous Access Hollywood tape.
“I don’t know that there is one answer,” Clinton said. “Certainly misogyny played a role, I mean that just has to be admitted. I think in this election there was a very real struggle between what is viewed as change that is welcomed and exciting to so many Americans and change which is worrisome and threatening to so many others.
“And layer on the first woman president over that and I think some people, women included, had real problems,” she said.
In her remarks, Hillary even suggested that Russian President Vladimir Putin might have been motivated by misogyny when he interfered in the election.
“He’s not exactly fond of strong women,” she said.
Clinton admitted that there were things she and her campaign staff could have done better, but she insisted that the bulk of the blame should still go to FBI Director James Comey and Moscow.
She’s still singing the same tune, after all these months. We assume she’ll still be singing it in 2020 when and if she decides to make yet another run at the White House.
As foolish as the Democrats are, though, we doubt they’re going to buy into Hillary’s self-serving narrative. Oh, they’ll buy into it when it comes to defending her publicly, but they know better than to put their money behind this two-time loser again. The American people have a deep, wide-ranging disdain for Hillary Clinton, and it has nothing to do with the October letter, Russia, or misogyny. It has to do with her and her family’s lifelong disregard for anyone other than themselves.
Bill, to his credit, is a good enough actor to make people believe that’s not the case. Hillary isn’t. It shines through her every speech and her every action.
The polls are supposedly turning on President Trump these days, but you’ll notice that they haven’t turned in Hillary’s favor. Americans may be having second thoughts about the guy who won…but there’s no one out there saying, “Damn, I should have voted for her.” Hell, people are even starting to come around on OBAMACARE, and they still aren’t sorry they rejected this woman. That’s about as damning as insults get.
We really hope Hillary is arrogant enough to run again and we hope the DNC is dumb enough to support her.
Another four years of Trump is just what the doctor ordered.
