Several studies have pointed to the strong probability that a fetus has developed pain sensors by the 20-week mark in an average pregnancy, which has led pro-life conservatives to try and at least mitigate the destruction done by this nation’s abortion industry. Republicans took another swing at the issue this week with a bill that would ban abortions after that sensitive time period, but it was blocked from proceeding by most Democrats (and a couple of Republicans…we’ll get to them in a minute).
The bill had the full support of the Trump administration. In a statement Monday, the White House encouraged the Senate to vote the bill through to the floor, saying it would “help to facilitate the culture of life to which our nation aspires.” Well, that’s a nice thought, but the sad truth is that there is one party in Washington that does NOT aspire to that standard. And when it comes to abortion, they are some of the most disgusting extremists on the planet.
So, indeed, the bill was blocked 51-46. Every Democrat other than Joe Manchin, Joe Donnelly and Bob Casey voted to block the bill. Every Republican except (and you won’t be surprised when you hear these names) Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski voted to push it through.
Oh, Collins and Murkowski, how do we hate thee? Let us count the ways. Listen, we understand that when it comes to purple states like Maine and Alaska we have to take what we can get, but are we quite sure that this is the best we can do? These two are getting on our nerves.
President Trump issued a statement encouraging the Senate to try again. “It is disappointing that despite support from a bipartisan majority of U.S. senators, this bill was blocked from further consideration.”
Well, Democrats take their marching orders from Planned Parenthood, so until we can raze that horrible institution to the ground, this is going to be the way it is. Or, alternatively, until we can kick every one of these pro-death liberals out on their disgusting behinds. We’re good with either.
There’s no denying the fact that Americans disagree as to when “life begins,” but no one can look at an ultrasound of a five-month-old fetus and not conclude that we’re talking about a viable human life. Abortion past this point is inhumane, cruel, and sick, even if you’re in favor of “a woman’s right to choose.” Until this nation gets its collective mind right about this issue, we will continue to pay a moral price for what amounts to mass murder.
