Biden Hits Back at Clinton, Defends Sanders’ Idealism

Vice President Joe Biden hit back at Clinton for criticizing Bernie Sanders’ idealism. While the VP believes America is ready for a female president, he sides with Sanders on some issues.

“I like the idea of saying, ‘We can do much more,’ because we can,” he said in an interview with the New York Times on Thursday.

Hillary Clinton has been criticizing Sanders for his bold proposals, which Clinton has called unrealistic.

“I don’t think any Democrat’s ever won saying, ‘We can’t think that big — we ought to really downsize here because it’s not realistic,’” Biden added.

The Vice President pointed to the Obama administration, noting the major changes the president was able to bring forward with hard work and dedication.

Biden also said he disagrees with the notion that presidents should abandon ideas because “really smart people” say it can’t be done and pushing the issue diminishes your power. The VP says major changes take time, and should be talked about.

Following the loss of his son, Biden made the decision not to enter the Democratic race last October, but was pleased to find that his popularity was still high.

“I beat every Republican in every poll when they thought I was running,” he said. Biden added that his favorability was higher than any candidate running for office.
