Joe Biden: “I Had Planned On Running”

Vice President Joe Biden was on ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Wednesday morning during an interview with Robin Roberts. The Vice President discussed the current Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton during the segment, and reaffirmed his belief that she will be the next president of the United States.

“I had planned on running,” stated Biden during the interview. “I think I would have been the best president,” he added. The Vice President ruled out a White House bid following the death of his son in October. The VP stated, “No one should ever seek the presidency unless they’re able to devote their whole heart and soul into just doing that.”

Biden added, “Beau was my soul.”

The death of Beau ended with Biden deciding it was not the right time to run for president. Biden also discussed the Republican presumptive nominee, Donald Trump, stating that Trump was “underestimated since he launched his campaign.” Biden, a Democrat, asserted that Trump’s tactics that allowed him to surpass 16 other Republicans during his campaign will not be effective against Hillary Clinton.

Biden is confident that Clinton will secure the presidency and stated that the country is ready for the first woman president last month. Clinton and Bernie Sanders are the only two Democrats left in the race.
