Donald Trump called a meeting between Bill Clinton and Attorney General Loretta Lynch “so horrible” on Thursday. The meeting came earlier in the week when Clinton boarded Lynch’s private plane in a “chance” meeting while Clinton is being investigation by the Department of Justice.
“Even the liberal media’s making it a big story,” Trump said.
Lynch discussed the meeting with reporters on Wednesday, stating that the meeting was a social one. Lynch reaffirmed that the two did not discuss the Justice Department’s investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server during her tenure as Secretary of State.
Republicans are calling Clinton’s meeting into question due to it being unprecedented for the Attorney General to meet with a politician that is under investigation. Hillary Clinton is under investigation, not her husband Bill Clinton.
Democrats are also against the meeting.
“I do agree with you that it doesn’t send the right signal,” states Senator Chris Coons from Delaware.
Coons’s office backtracked on his comments later in the evening, stating that he felt the Attorney General addressed the issue appropriately.
Trump and his fellow Republicans do not trust the assurance from the Attorney General that the two parties did not discuss the investigation. “This is terrible and nobody can understand why nothing’s happened.”
