Mike Pence Doesn’t “Understand the Basis” of Michelle Obama’s Speech on Thursday

Vice Presidential candidate Mike Pence commented on Michelle Obama’s strong comments calling for women to rally against Donald Trump after a video surfaced with lewd comments against women last week.

Obama, rallying for Hillary Clinton on Thursday in New Hampshire, stated, “This was a powerful individual speaking.”

Pence, speaking on “CBS This Morning,”said, “I don’t understand the basis of her claim,” when confronted on the speech by co-anchor Norah O’Donnell. The co-anchor asked the VP candidate if Obama’s comments on Trump’s past remarks made him uncomfortable.

The Indiana Governor stated, ““I have a lot of respect for the first lady and the job she has done for the American people over the last seven and a half years.”

O’Donnell continued to press the issue and questioned Pence on whether he thought Trump’s comments were sexually predatory. “Well, no,” stated Pence brushing off Trump’s comments as mere talk and nothing else.

Michelle Obama, respected by Democrats and Republicans, has not been the center of Trump attacks despite his track record of attacking powerful politicians. Pence was pushed on Trump’s recent troubles, with numerous women coming out this week stating he sexually assaulted them. He asserted that the claims were false.

Pence stated that there will be new information revealed in the coming weeks that will back Trump’s claim that the allegations are unfounded.
